Newspaper searches in vain for accountability after a deadly wreck near the game . . . Here's a story on what they didn't find:
KCPD doesn't release report from van wreck near Arrowhead | The Kansas City Star
After a Kansas City police van rear-ended a car, killing a Shawnee Mission South student on Oct. 21 on Interstate 435 near Arrowhead Stadium, police released no incident report. Missouri law says they must.
Nothing to see here! Cops are the biggest hypocrites. They are all law and order until it's one of their own. Total pussies.
ReplyDeleteNobody drives drunk more than cops, which I bet is the issue here. Last year in Gardner a cop hit and killed a guy on a motorcycle with his vehicle. Not one word of it has been in the news.
ReplyDeleteYep, 6:26. When I lived in Indianapolis there was a similar story. A drunk cop hit a car with a family inside; the father died, the mother and two kids suffered various injuries. Cop was never charged, no report, nothing, they just stalled, stalled, delay until people forgot about it. Same tactic here.
ReplyDeleteBut, like the rest of the KCPD operation, where's the oversight?
ReplyDeleteWhere's the Board of Police Commissioners?
Where's the city council committee for public safety?
Where's "criminal justice" Jolie Justus?
Of course, it's hard to provide oversight for something that you really don't pay any attention to and so don't know much about.
Heck, cops don't just have phones to play with while they drive they have lap tops mounted to use while driving.
ReplyDeleteWhy was an off duty police officer driving a police van to private business for a job? The police van is public property and you can be sure taxpayers were paying for gas and maintenance on the vehicle. The police officer should have to reimburse the taxpayers for the vehicle.
ReplyDeleteIt’s common practice in kcmo
DeleteWhoops, our bad.
ReplyDelete"The Untouchables"
The type of van being driven is not used for emergency response so there was no need for the officer to be driving it to the Chiefs game. Clearly the liability for the crash rests solely on the officer as the person that rear ended the other vehicle. The city is just circling wagons to be prepared for the millions they will have to pay out to the family for wrongful death and serious injuries.
ReplyDeleteWhat they should be doing right now is paying burial costs, medical bills, and assisting the family. The KCPD should be banning the use of vehicles off duty unless you are required to respond immediately to an emergency.
Cops are the losers from high school who grunted, "I'll show you!"
ReplyDeleteTotal pussies each and every one.
The van must have been driven very fast, in stop-and-go game day traffic, to cause that much damage. This looks very bad for the officer, and for the department as well if it does not come clean.
ReplyDeleteProbably a drunk KCPD cop driving.
ReplyDeleteFile a freedom of Information Request.
KCPD sucks.....A corrupt Police Institution.
ReplyDeleteSo they release the report: driving too fast for conditions -- DUH! But, nothing further ... no cause, no ID, nuthin. What a scam.
