To be fair, last night's crowd was a little better than Friday's disaster and KCK-native pop star Janelle Monáe played to a half-full Starlight Theatre.
Even better . . .

Not sure if a shoutout from the stage at a KCMO R&B concert is gonna help these political ladies and their red state struggles but they seemed hopeful.
The latest from Ms. Davids:

And today's voter registration shout out was just posted a few seconds ago.
The friendly crowd seemed to enjoy the political nod.
However, what's important here is that THE EVENT WAS HEAVILY SUBSIDIZED BY KCMO TAXPAYERS who might or might not appreciate a musical campaign event for the sake of KANSAS progressives whilst local priorities like trash pickup, water infrastructure and crime are often neglected by City Hall.

ReplyDeleteSharice Davids seems to spend a lot of time out of her so called district gathering money and attention than she does in her own. The reason for that is simple, her support isn't there and the campaign money isn't there as she and the media would like you to think so. When a person running for election in a tiny congressional seat in Kansas has to go to cities on the east coast to raise campaign money that says a lot about what's happening. Steve Rose can sing all he wants but the mass majority has known for years he can't carry a tune of any kind anyone really wants to hear. He is wrong about Davids just as he has been wrong about most everything in life he has came in contact with.
ReplyDeleteSince it appears Davids would rather be away from home than at home it strikes me as she isn't the right person for the job she seeks. It's already well known her stances don't sit to well with the majority of her district. Then you add to the fact she has time for all of these events outside of her district but zero time for any debating within the area she is seeking office for. Maybe she is just into the party side of politics and not the real working side of it.
When taxpayer funded events turn into political push or motivated talk and publicity for those running, that event should forever be barred from receiving any taxpayer dollars for anything.
Miss Janelle better watch out if that cage fighting amazon has taken a fancy to her ...

Surely with KCMO picking up over $250K of the sponsorship's for Open Spaces the taxpayers of the same KCMO wouldn't want to support Kansas Bitches in their effort to take two spots in government. But then they are women so its hard to know. I'll bet they all got together after the concert and ate something that tastes like chicken.
