Council Dude Jermaine Reed Comes Up Short On Cash For More 18th & Vine Funding

Even the newspaper belittles so much big talk from the Mayoral hopeful who wants to flush another $10-27-MILLION away on this longstanding entertainment district debacle.

You decide . . .

Jermaine Reed's 18th & Vine funding plan has a problem | The Kansas City Star

No Kansas City politician's fortunes are more closely tethered to the revitalization of the 18th & Vine District than that of City Councilman Jermaine Reed. Over his two terms, Reed has been the public face of a redevelopment effort that has struggled with empty storefronts, the financially troubled American Jazz Museum and tepid interest from lovers of music and nightlife.

Sorry Jermaine. We have wasted $100 million on that ghetto shithole. No more. Find another project to steal from. How about get a real job?

I can give 106 good reasons why nothing in the Inner City is going to succeed.

Well jeez maybe we need another couple tax abated large entertainment districts nearby that will fix cash flow problems?

Great, lets get rid of everything in KC that is interesting and different and sets us apart from every other city.

BORING.

Yeah, let's concentrate on crime, infrastructure, and basic good civic government instead of pouring money into corrupt failed downtown development schemes.

SO boring.

There's been a mini-renaissance going on in KC. The 18th and Vine district would have done better collapsing on it's own and having non-city employees swoop in and save this. It could have been thriving by now

Well, now it can fail on it’s own. The white people pay all the taxes for something else the black people get for free. The white people are sick of it.

Reed will make a good living all of his live and will end up with $200 in the bank at the age of 65...

Will this embarrassment be enough for him to admit defeat and get out of Lucas' way?
