The culture war according to Kansas City's top ranking elected leader:
“Our country has reached a level of political polarization and warfare that’s greater than it’s ever been in my lifetime,” Cleaver stated.
However, Cleaver also highlighted success stories and opportunities for improvement in the turbulent political landscape.
He reflected on a conversation he had with Missouri Gov. Mike Parson after the governor took over in June. Despite their opposing political parties, the two talked about the importance of low-income housing and low-income tax credits. A month and a half later, they gave a joint press conference on the topic.
Cleaver said this type of bipartisan cooperation should be used to solve major issues and debates, including insurance coverage of preexisting conditions.

Cleaver highlights bipartisan cooperation
At a Friday legislative briefing by Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II, a connection between local and national politics became a theme. Cleaver pushed back against the tariffs President Trump has leveled at China, Canada and other nations.
So cleaver was basically forced to admit the economy is doing well at one point in the article. Of course he thinks raising the gasoline tax is a no brainer. He wants to talk about affordable housing and helping low income people but wants to almost double the gas tax.
ReplyDeleteBipartisan cooperation? Cleaver has spent the last two years bashing Republicans.
ReplyDeleteCleaver does not understand that bi-partisan means he too has to compromise sometimes. He thinks it's bi-partisan only when the opposing side surrenders.
ReplyDelete"Bipartisan Cooperation ?! Like the "bipartisan cooperation" displayed during the Kavanaugh Confirmation Hearings ? The only issue that both parties seem to agree on is the ethnic cleansing of all enemies of Israel.
ReplyDeleteNoticed he did not discuss paying back his car wash loan.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely ANYBODY but the Cleaver!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDamn, now they puttin a tariff on the carwash!
ReplyDeletewhy does he keep issuing cut-and-paste uncivil statementse every couple of weeks?
ReplyDeleteCleaver is a joke. Anybody hear about the hearing/investigation he said he would look into on Bank of America freezing peoples accounts? Personally BoA was profiling.
ReplyDeleteGod his face alone makes me gag.
ReplyDelete18th and Vine, The Jazz District. Clever is a Minister who has been conning his folks for years.
ReplyDeleteThe cleave is running out of free money chances for 18th and vine, he’s desperate to keep money flowing into......... his pockets, he’s just like Frankie boy, they spend ten times more money than they make so they need free gubmint money
ReplyDeleteHe helps the Republican party recruit voters by saying, "look at the opposition, you have to vote Republican".
ReplyDeleteClever should leave office and let another Democrat come in and lead with a positive and intelligent message.
He sas recently asked why he thought the massive investments in the 18th and Vine District has not shown any returns, and he said it was because of Racism.
