TKC QUESTION AFTER KANSAS CITY RHYTHM & BOOZE TRIPLE SHOOTING: IS CROSSROADS GOING THE WAY OF WESTPORT VIA MORE GUN VIOLENCE?!?!

A recent spate of gunfire at a nightclub in one of Kansas City's most vibrant neighborhoods threatens the progress of a burgeoning community.

Check the round-up reports as a refresher . . .

Fox4: 3 taken to hospital after shooting in Kansas City’s Crossroads district

KMBC: Triple shooting at Rhythm & Booze bar in Kansas City injures two men and a woman

Now . . .

A KANSAS CITY TOP ECHELON INSIDER FEARS THE TRAGIC SHOOTING ENDANGERS THE DOWNTOWN RENAISSANCE AND URBAN CORE HIPSTER GOOD TIMES!!!

Here's the word . . .

"The Crossroads has always been susceptible to violence because the area is more wide open than most local entertainment districts, there is little concern about security and the 'alternative' arts community isn't exactly welcoming of a heavy police presence. Sadly, these factors provide the perfect storm to invite more criminals to the area seeking a multitude of soft targets. It's unfortunate . . . Hundreds of millions have been invested nearby along the streetcar line and very little of that money has been directed toward security around the neighborhood where increased traffic might incur more crime. As we move forward, it's obvious that more violence will threaten this Kansas City community if things don't change . . ."

Midday robberies, a string of organized burglaries and a spate of property crime have confronted the neighborhood in 2018.

And so we ask . . .

IS THE CROSSROADS CONFRONTING A KANSAS CITY CRIME WAVE?!?!

Civic cheerleaders are quick to downplay the question and the current crop of politicos have turned a blind eye to violence around the KCMO overall. Nevertheless, the latest spate of club gunfire endangers the hipster party on which so much of Kansas City 'momentum' is hinged.

Developing . . .

Comments

  1. Just a hop, skip and jump over from the streetcar. I guess we might want to warn passengers that venturing off of the line could get them killed. It's only fair to at least warn people.

    1. Crossroads was once just a bunch of tenements for the homeless, the speculators took over and drove up the rents. Providing security for their investment should be their burden not something that's passed on to the rest of the city. There are already more neighborhoods further away from downtown that need help. Pushing more security in the crossroads is giving the rest of KC the short end of the stick when it comes to police protection.

  2. It’s only a problem when it’s downtown? Is sLIE going to finally do something about crime now but only when it affects his downtown, somehow I’m not surprised by this revelation

  3. Not a fair question whatsoever. Crossroads has made AMAZING strides over the years and leads Kansas City when we talk about new business and living space.

What we really need to consider is the proliferation of guns in our area. Mayor Sly James has repeatedly attempted to stop these idiots with guns and he has been met with nothing but resistance from Missouri Republicans and those who misstate his concerns with false narratives about the 2nd Amendment.

The fact is, the shooting in the Crossroads is just another example of how to many guns on Kansas City streets are a danger to businesses and people. If we need to start somewhere to fix this problems, updating our gun laws is the way to do it, not by criticizing the people and communities in Kansas City that are leading the progress and the revival sparked by the streetcar overall.

    1. What we really need is to get Sly the fuck out of the mayors office and take all his faggot supporters like yourself with him. Get rid of the fat lard ass lying cocksucker.

      Delete
    2. Unless the shooter had a legal gun, changing gun laws wont fix the problem. When you outlaw guns only outlaws will have guns. Looked at Chicago shooting lately? Guns are outlawed there!

      Delete
    3. Just the sort of reply you would expect from Gopher the PR Pussy. How much gun control did Mayor Lard Ass discuss at the pizza parties and other entertainment for his colored constituents? If the answer is zero, it’s because he knows it would fall on deaf ears.

      Delete
  4. The last thing Mayor Sly really wants is gun control. He knows it would make no difference in the crime rate and then he might have to take some responsibility for it.

    ReplyDelete
  5. 6:41 Please give an example of an “updated gun law”.
There are so many laws now that I’d like an example of one that would work. Sincere question

    ReplyDelete
  6. Yep, the gun pulled its trigger.

  7. Shame on you, as if you knew the word.

As our community explodes with violence, your marionette boss, dancing on the strings of his developer masters, has not only incompetently ignored the crime problem. He's actually made it worse by taking police off the streets. While you crow about the latest in downtown toys and openly lie about their effectiveness and benefit, blood runs in the streets.

One more time: our problem is enforcement, not legislation. Insisting on more gun laws is a cheap dodge of the issue. But you don't care, as long as the right people continue to have access to their slush funds.

I have compared the shenanigans of City Hall to a clown car, and I apologize. Any clown car would have a far greater sense of civic responsibility, competence, and integrity.

But you are funnier, I'll give you that.

  8. The crime occurring in KCMO is a people problem and this has been identified by many people many times. Many people have offered many solutions to the people problem.
Until Slie man ups and admits what the real problem is nothing will happen. Slie does not want to call out the people problem. Medical condition is known as no balls and backbone.

Apparently, according to Go4KC, all questions are unfair that shed negative light on Slie's pipe dream utopia downtown area.

As noted many times Slie's failed feel good programs have had no effect on reducing crime.

Slie's mind is too clouded to worry about anything but the fair weather toy train.

  17. Let's be clear. 99% of the people on TKC live in the suburbs - nowhere near the 'violent shit hole' of KC.

Why doth protest so much, huh? You're losers.

    ReplyDelete
  18. ^^^You will be clear only when you prove what you claim to be true.

You will be cogent when you explain why only a person who lives in the city can recognize it as a violent shit hole.

    ReplyDelete
  19. ^^Then why for fuck sakes are you here? If it's such a violent shithole as you say, then you should be long gone. The fact that you're still here makes your posts irrelevant and a bunch of lies. If it really was a violent shithole, no sane person would live here. What's wrong with you? Here's the reality, it's no more more violent than anywhere else. Take your narrative and shove it up your gaped ass. School's out sucker, you're dismissed!

Stay in Olathe and Blue Springs and party with your high school friends from 10, 20, 30 years ago and pat each other on the back about your 'big win' in '92 over your rival high school team. That's the life you want to live, so live it, and leave the grown ups alone as we dodge bullets and violence in the grown up world. Y'all are pussies, and that's fine. Most of the people in this world are pussies. Leave real living to the grown ups.

  26. Marines are pussies. They all live their life based on what other people tell them -- pussies. A real man lives his own life, works for himself and no one else. Pussies are military people who basically join a Socialist enterprise -- guaranteed health care and pensions for LIFE! That's a pussy. Military people except for the very, very top tier specialists are pussies. Go live your own life, make your own decisions, and you'd fail tremendously! So sad.

  30. Look, you have to understand what TKC really is. It’s nothing but an echo chamber for a. Our dozen geriatrics. Take a look at the comments, it’s usually the same old posters day after day. The don’t go anywhere, do anything, to be brutally honest have any real social life. The constantly complain about everything. It doesn’t matter what it is, they’re going to complain about it. It makes them feel better about their solitary existence. Tony’s no fool, he knows his audience. He knows to keep them engaged, he needs to give them posts to complain about constantly. The vast majority of people in this city are not scared of anything. They recognize that KC really is a terrific place to live and raise a family. You’ Never hear them on here though....they’re too busy living their lives.

Good thing you're complaining here so often about geezers and others telling about the shitholey side of Killa City. Your scolding Tony that he gives "a dozen geriatrics" something to complain about is laughable. You're trying to shoot the messengers and stifle all who aren't waving pompoms nonstop, like you.

  31. 9:04, I do not personally think that KCMO is a shit hole. I live here. I'm only challenging you to prove your assertion and explain your logic. I did not think that you could do either, and I was right.

Now go ask those nice young men in their clean white suits for something that will calm you down.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Haha 9:56. The majority of enlisted are on PSYCOACTIVE MEDS! It's the only way to keep our troop levels up. Hahaha. They're all fat and have criminal records and require anti-anxiety and depression meds. You can make a funny with the men in white suits on me, but the REALITY is that most of the military enlisted are tended to by men in WHITE SUITS. Go away. I live in KCMO and have my entire life - minus 10 years in the Army. It's the same as always. We had spikes in crime and murders in the 70s, then in the late 80s/early 90s, then it calmed down for many years. Now we're dealing with an increase, okay, so someone who has lived here most of their life think, big deal.

    Your point?

    ReplyDelete
  33. True dat 9:55.

  34. If you were to curtail all the bars hours and put a curfew on black people you would see a huge decline on crime over all.

There Go4KC you have a solution to the problem.

  35. Thank god for drones and new tech weaponry. Our military is soft and fast and worthless. These young dudes get full psychiatric discharge if someone shoots a gun near them without permission. If they even see an enemy combatant they claim PTSD.

Our military entitlements are going to ruin us. Trust me, in 30 or 40 years we'll be bankrupt from paying full pensions and psychiatric discharges to an entire generation of pussies.

    Our pussiness will ruin America.

  36. Little known fact (or discussed) regarding the opioid epidemic is that the US military is one of the largest prescribers of opioids and anti-anxiety meds (Xanax, etc.). Complain of any pain or anxiousness and you'll get 90 or 120 day prescription. Keep complaining and you get more and more refills and before you know it, you're a full blown addict.

I'm not talking about legitimately injured military -- gun wound and related injuries. I'm talking about PTSD-related "injuries" and the most minor ailments (sprains, bruises, generalized back or neck pain, etc.)

  38. GO4KC is a dumb ass move to Chicago strictest gun laws in the Country most murders Mayor is an idiot. Career Criminals do not buy or possess legal firearms. Crossroads needs to hire a bunch of Off-Duty KCPD put them out in the Crossroads. locking people up that are prying on the young people trying to live in Urban KCMO not to hard "you hire the cops you loose the criminals"
Person was correct the PD should not have to drain manpower from across the city for the problem. Guess people can call the Libitards who don' like the police presence when there is Gun Play and see how that works for them.
