TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS SPECIALIZING IN DOCKLESS SCOOTERS DESCEND UPON KANSAS CITY AMID THE RISE OF BIRD!!!

Local media is playing catch-up when it comes to all of the problems confronting Bird scooter riders and right now we're providing FIRST WORD of a new trend soon to hit local courtrooms.

PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS ARE NOW TARGETING KCMO DOCKLESS SCOOTER RIDERS AND OFFERING SERVICES AMID RAMPANT COMPLAINTS!!!

A pitch from one of many legal eagles:

"As more people suffer injuries on electric transportation, they are seeking the experience of a Bird Scooter injury lawyer . . . In the vast majority of cases, the person who rents the scooter is liable for injuries they sustain as a result of the ride. They are also liable if they injure another person or damage property. However, you may hold a scooter company liable when someone can prove the cause of an injury was a result of scooter malfunction."

To be fair, part of obtaining a license to operate in the city requires companies to carry liability on riders . . . And, thanks to the denizens of our AWESOME TKC BLOG COMMUNITY, that was a big part of the City Hall discussion.

An update on the growing scooter traffic . . . In 52 days, there has been close to 22K unique riders who have taken 68K+ rides! As scooters move into neighborhoods so even more people can enjoy riding them, please make sure to ride them on streets/bike lanes and not sidewalks.

Accordingly . . .

CHECK YOUR SOCIALS AND NOTICE INCREASED COMPLAINTS ABOUT BIRD RIDERS ON SIDEWALKS HITTING RESIDENTS THREATENING TRAFFIC!!!

And so . . .

Because these scooters are digitally monitored, they're easy to track and app sign-ins have been used to assign blame and pinpoint riders who don't obey company policy and the rules of the road.

The verdict . . .

PERSONAL INJURY LAWYERS TARGETING BIRD SCOOTERS IN KANSAS CITY IS TRENDING GIVEN THAT SO MANY MIDDLE-CLASS HIPSTERS WITH RICH PARENTS HAVE TURNED THE "TRANSIT" FAD INTO A STATUS SYMBOL!!!

Reality . . . Working-poor adults and young people don't have the time or the clueless sense of entitlement, whimsy, and insouciant bearing required to ride silly scooters around town.

And so we offer this warning and notice because the legal eagles who sent/spammed this note our way were too cheap to even offer advertising bucks but instead wanted to trade worthless social media "shares" to boost biz . . . Fact is, this trend is actually a newsworthy point of contention and a legal commination that deserves to be considered for educational, parody and news purposes given the never-ending search for deep pockets and pliable local wallets.

Developing . . .

  1. Kind of reminds me a lot of pokemon go. That first summer it was everywhere, just about everybody under 21 was playing it and the streets of the plaza were packed. Today you see a few people still living in the past but most people don't really care.

    Same thing here.

Lots of complaining, lots of fighting but not really a sustainable mode of transit. A lot like the streetcar.

Don't know why we're such suckers for this kind of thing here in KC.

    2. If a few hardworking lawyers want to suit up, more power too them. Some of the riders are absolute dicks. You have to be over 18 to rent one so you're dealing with adults making adult decisions to break the law, ride on the sidewalks and crash into people. They should be warned about the consequences.

Shallow pols like Sly love to jump from trend to trend.
Don't stay with anything very long. Distracts from serious needs of
    community.
Difficult to measure progress or success.
    School administrators are worst.
Sly should get taxpayers to fund a pre-k slush fund for his future career. A million a year salary would be about right.

  5. 9:59, the fat lawyers could never catch up to the ambulance so they're chasing scooters now.

  6. I wonder if there is a set aside for the 3rd district in the taxes the city collects from these scooters...

  7. Good I can't wait. You scooter people get in my way and I would love to sue. Hit my person and we'll have an even bigger problem.

  8. Question: which is worse a lawyer or a politician?

Lawyers are scumbags for a dollar. Want another example? A lawyer convinced someone that a dumb bitch who spilled hot coffee on herself should get millions. Another scumbag lawyer convinced a jury that OJ simpson didn’t kill his wife.

Again...another lawyer convinced a jury that Casey Anthony is an angel.

Scumbag lawyers are running Kansas City. More crime more money.

    1. I don't disagree, but Google the hot coffee lawsuit. There is more to it than just a frivolous lawsuit.

    2. Please educate yourself on the coffee incident. You may find that a lawsuit was necessary to protect the consumer if you dont formulate your opinion by listening to shitty newsies who lie to your face by omission and uninformed dolts like you.

  9. Maybe that crazy guy from Raytown will shoot some more lawyers he deems scumbags. He's in Jackson County Jail for murder, so he should be out in about 6 months.

James and Noland LLC must be in 7th heaven over those there so called scooters. Probably have someone cruising the streets looking for someone to fall off of one.

  12. what's the best way to get the most money? get hit by someone else? fall off and break a bone?

if you have a job, do you get workmen's compensation?

any idea how long it takes to get the money?

    thanks for your suggestions.

  13. Jason Pander does not waste his time on such frivolous issues as scooters.
Or municipal public safety or street maintenance, for that matter.
Just a couple months ago some media hacks were touting him as a presidential candidate. As in President of the United States.
And now he's found the perfect place to pursue that driving ambition by making believe that he's running for mayor of the little mid-west burg of KCMO.
And, amazingly, the local yokels are just eating that up.
Apparently you CAN fool at least most of the people all of the time.
    At least in KCMO!

Definitely a ride at your own risk situation. Not that I feel sorry for the spoiled brats who hop aboard.

  18. There are about half a dozen law firms doing this. One in Texas and three in Kansas City. A few online offers and what we know is that Bird is scared of it. I think they know that Jackson County juries can be a very expensive place for everyone.

    Good post T.
