Hundreds displaced in Riley Co., KS flooding

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Overnight rains exceeding 8 inches caused widespread flooding and evacuations in and around Riley County, Kansas. The Riley County Police Department tweeted Monday afternoon that 300 people were displaced following flooding along Wildcat Creek. There is an Emergency Evacuation Shelter set up at Pottorf Hall located at 1710 Avery.

New state website aims to show how Missouri's government spends money

Missouri has a new website designed to make government more transparent, according to State Treasurer Eric Schmitt. Schmitt's office recently launched ShowMeCheckbook.mo.gov, which he calls "a one-stop shop" for information on state finances, revenue, payroll, expenses and cash flow.

Man guilty of killing father of 3 outside Ford Claycomo plant sentenced to life in prison

CLAYCOMO, Mo. - A 27-year-old man was sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing a friend outside the Ford assembly plant in Claycomo. Deonte Buffington-Hardy was sentenced Friday in Clay County. He was found guilty in July of first-degree murder in the 2016 death of 26-year-old Brandon Nunnally.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Opening kickoff is now less than a week away, but we finally know the players that will likely take the field Sunday in Los Angeles. Tropical storm on path towards Kansas City

Tropical Storm Gordon is expected to cross the Gulf this week, making a beeline straight for Kansas City. The National Hurricane Center issued a tropical storm watch on Sunday for parts of the Gulf Coast as it brings heavy rains and strong winds to South Florida and was expected to make landfall in Alabama on Tuesday into Wednesday.
