Credit where it's due . . . Biz advice from this FAILING media organization argues against a controversial attraction and is totally correct on the topic of spending money from a rigged election.

New aquarium at KC Zoo wrong use of taxpayers' bond funds | The Kansas City Star
The Kansas City Zoo says it wants to build a $75 million aquarium. Some of the money - $7 million - would come from the GO bonds approved by voters in 2017. That's a misuse of those funds, and the City Council should say no.
Now that The Star is finally showing some consistent signs of becoming critical of the corrupt SLIe James regime maybe a local buyer should take the company of McClatchy's hands while it's cheap.
ReplyDeleteHo Lee Fuk, the Star is actually saying something smart????????

ReplyDeleteThis town doesn't need two aquariums! Geez you dumb asses who voted for the Go Bond are so flipping stupid. Fix the DAMN infrastructure like PROMISED you dirty bow tie black jungle freak.
Unbelievable that the star has a moment of revelancy!!!!, who is going to pay all these taxes when anuone who works for a living moves elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteWow. All four of you retards read the star? You must be old as dirt.
ReplyDeleteHow can Alissa Canaday support this project with these tax dollars???
ReplyDeleteObviously she is totally unfit to be in a position on the Council.
Alissa, let me explain this to this way...
Your house needs a foundation to be repaired. You go to the bank and they approve a loan for this repair for $20,000. You decide to install an aquarium in your house and do not do the repair to the foundation. Your foundation gets worse. You go back to the bank and ask for a new loan for the foundation. The Bank asks you why you did not repair the foundation with the first loan. The Bank turns you down for all future funding...
We've already got an animal shelter out there that doesn't have enough money. With all the needs in this shithole of a shitty, dumping more wasted bucks into an unneeded fish tank is nuts. 18th and Vine still needs millions, and there are miles and miles of bike lanes to be painted.
ReplyDelete18th and vine is more worthless than the zoos project. 18th and vine is just a give away to M/MBE companies who do nothing.
DeleteOf course the Star opposes spending on the Zoo!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as the November Elections are over they plan a campaign to try to shame us into handing them more tax money to prop up their failing swamp a little longer!
The Star is against it because when the conditionally accredited high school graduates hired to work the aquarium will not read it, but only use it to wrap the fish they've killed.
ReplyDeleteI would much rather have my tax money spent on this then a new jail for felons. The star needs to get their priorities straight.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the few tax issues I'm not totally against. It's less than 10 percent of the total cost and KC shits away more money on bike lanes and trash like that so at least the community would be getting an aquarium instead of bullshit high rise stuff
ReplyDeleteOn ghetto day they will kill the fish too
ReplyDeleteWhile I support the zoo, I do NOT support the idea of using GO bonds or any other public money. In fact, I'm not crazy about the idea that the zoo will continue to expand in an area that is surrounded by a war zone. NO public money.
ReplyDelete^^^Well thankfully your opinion does not matter in the least.
