Clay Chastain Seyz 'Elite' & Newspaper Shutting Him Out Of KCMO Mayor's Race

Right now we want to share the latest complaint from Kansas City's most prolific transit activist.

While he has neither turned in his signatures to qualify for office nor filed a campaign finance report or committee organization form with the Missouri Ethics Commission . . . The light rail crusader shares his opinion on the status quo in KCMO and provides some pertinent information about his battles with 12th & Oak. Checkit:

Press Release:Star & the elite are trying to shut Clay Chastain out of mayor's race

Kansas City's elite-oriented establishment and the Kansas City Star are afraid of what mayoral candidate Clay Chastain might say in a debate and what Clay might do if elected mayor.

They fear a Clay Chastain mayoral administration will be a radical departure from previous administrations because:

* Clay is a little guy, will be for the little guy and will not bend to the will of the agenda-oriented Star or the powerful in Kansas City.

* Clay will move to abolish TIF (an idea that has been abused for decades with one taxpayer hand out after the next for wealthy developers building elite playhouses in non-blighted areas of the city), and the unnecessary unaccountable Economic Development Corporation (EDC) that siphons off millions of taxpayer dollars every year.

* Clay will move to stop the streetcar expansion (which does not improve transit and is a con job being foisted upon the community without a citywide vote) in its obsolete tracks.

* Clay will move to end the secrecy at City Hall and the government's abuse of valid petitions from the people.

To counteract Clay's candidacy, the news side of the "paper for the people" has refused to even acknowledge Clay is running for mayor. And the elite, in the form of former councilman Ed Ford, did its part by refusing to invite Clay to the first mayoral debate in the northland.

Star editorial member Dave Helling, wrote this about Clay's mayoral candidacy on July 24, "(Don't get me started on Clay Chastain. He may not be eligible, and he can't win.)" Impressive Mr. "Know-it-all"... A Star editorial denounces the very candidate its news side refuses to even acknowledge is a candidate. The Star has also refused to inform citizens about Clay's August 17th, 2018 court victory (case # 1816-CV05605) against City Hall's desperate attempt to get Clay's defamation suit against the city (for falsely placing Clay on a "Watch List'" for dangerous people in retaliation for Clay's petition challenges) thrown out of court. The Star continues to cover for City Hall's abuses of power against Clay.

What's more, Brian Kaberline and the Kansas City Business Journal have not only joined the Star in refusing to acknowledge Clay is a candidate, but have also refused to cover Clay's petition initiative to expand and modernize the city's failed diesel bus system around a zero-emission rapid rail and electric bus system primarily operating on dedicated "greenway" corridors. That newspaper is too consumed with writing fluff pieces about the elite's novelty and obsolete (slow-moving / in traffic / attached to overhead wires) streetcar system that primarily benefits wealthy developers and will not help an inner city citizen get to a job. Clay will move to derail that non-transit improvement system, if elected mayor.

If a real "paper for the people" were to ever come to Kansas City, it would be lonesome.

And now that a real mayor for the people is in the race for mayor, he asks that voters help him drain the foul waters and make the "City Beautiful", beautiful again.

Clay Chastain, candidate for Mayor of Kansas City.

  5. They can't do that! Clay needs to do everything possible to run, he has my vote too. When you vote if Clay is not on the ballot write him in.

Take this city away from Sly and Go4KC idiots who don't know the difference between momentum and momentous.
