Bird promises more scooters for Kansas City's east side

More electric scooters might arrive soon in Kansas City's urban core, providing a much-needed transportation option, after KMBC 9 News started asking questions of company officials and city leaders this week. KMBC questioned city and transit leaders based on observations from the Bird app - showing a heavy concentration of scooters parked west of Troost Avenue on several days over the past three weeks.

  2. There are already scooter "corpses" all over downtown and the Plaza. Flat tires, damaged and unusable, or just don't work.
    This latest move will just accelerate their demise.
    Then we'll have a "scooter desert" that somehow it will be the responsibility of the taxpayers to solve.
    And yet new opportunities for fake nonprofits and grifters.
    Another "recognizing an emergency" spending decision from the council coming.
