North Kansas City bakery closes after nearly 20 years - Kansas City Business Journal

"With a heavy heart," the owner of Le Monde Bakery has closed his North Kansas City business after nearly 20 years. It's a career that has included 4 million baguettes, 2.5 million pastries, 400,000 cups of coffee and 12,000 gallons of chicken curry - and "more 16 hour days than I can count," owner Jef Dover wrote on Le Monde's Facebook page.

  3. Will quickly be replaced by a hipster coffee house catering to soy boy bike riders with ineffectual bad attitudes about cars driving on the streets bike riders own. Customers will want extra Bird and Lime scooters available for post-caffeination joy rides around Northtown.

  8. We are sorry to see it close, but we're not surprised. They opened up a Vape Shop right next door. Oh well, we can always go to the "other" bakery. Wait, there is no other bakery around there. Thanks for the memories, Jef.
