Local group travels around Kansas City, praying at homicide scenes for end to voilence

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A local group spent Saturday morning trying to curb Kansas City's recent violence with prayer. Bishop John Birmingham Jr. organized Violence Free KC's Prayer Caravan. "This is an outward expresssion," he explained, "of an inward rage against all the killings and murders in this city."

  3. Violence Free KC's Prayer Caravan should be directly praying with the young hood rats at the same time they are mentoring the young hood rats on proper behavior and showing them their is a better way to live than violence. Mentoring from the local community is the answer to the violence.

  5. If God has not made any efforts up to now to stop the violence why is he going to listen to what a wild looking woman in burgundy hair has to say about it all.

Maybe if people doing all the praying would turn the members of their family who are causing all the killings and so forth in to the police maybe then we would see the end they so much want to see.

  8. Bishop John Birmingham Jr.

"Bishop" in the urban black community is a self-appointed unearned title.

  9. Praying couldn't do any LESS than all the fake nonprofits like Mothers in Charge, Aim4Peace, ad Hoc, NoVa, and all the rest and at least prayers are FREE.
It's less likely, though, that the feral destructive goons who perpetrate the violence and murders on the east side, are going to be as affected by prayer as much as they might be by some serious police sweeps, stop and frisk, gun confiscation from criminals, warrants served, and whole lot more assertive law enforcement activities in those high-crime neighborhoods.
Doesn't ANYBODY in those communities have the guts to even honestly identify the real problem?

  10. It might work if they would sacrifice a chicken or a goat. (Gimme that old time religion!)

  11. They all act like a bunch of striped-ass baboons in a Tarzan movie.
Maybe they should pray to Cheetah.

  12. Praying and religion is what got them into this mess. Everyone has moved into modernity except for people who actually believe in the magical thinking that supernatural deities influence our physical world.

  13. That's not going to work. Poor people... that's all the can think of to do.

For prayer to work, God has to be in the hearts of the people in the community. Those doing the shooting/stabbing/beating/killing have turned their back on God and are of the evil one.

There is no easy solution. The black sub culture needs to change. For that to happen, there needs to be leadership in the black community... but there isn't any. The black men who speak out candidly about the culture are shouted down by those who benefit from the black victim-hood mentality.

    God help them.

  15. All you need to know is that in KCMO public schools children who try to get good grades and stay out of trouble are made fun of and mocked. They are told to “stop trying to be so white”. It is in the public schools that they learn the life of crime and thuggery. 75% without a father....oh, they have a baby daddy but he locked up or somewhere running from “the po-po”.

  18. Are all these posts evidence that Kansas City is having a "Credibility Crisis" in regard to all these Anti-Violence Groups?

  19. Bishop? Where exactly is his theology degree from? Bet you the "Bishop" drives an Escalade and is banging more than one of the fat ass female beasts in his congregation.

  27. I believe in God and prayers, but I also believe that God gives everyone free will to make choices, and it doesn’t matter if you grew up in the country club set or the ghetto, everyone knows that murder is wrong. People like the Chakka Khan-looking woman in the article should be praying for the thugs in their hoods to make better decisions.

  28. If your religious and believe the future that the Bible outlines, then you will read that violence will increase all over the earth. Nowhere does the bible say poverty, illness, crime, or wars shall be prevented.
