Let's not forget that NFL ratings are down and most experts believe they'll continue to decline.
The national anthem crisis is not resolved and Prez Trump is using NFL and protesting players as an easy political target.
Now this local fanboy slap in the face could be the last straw for some of the most diehard fans.

I'm not so much worried about the drunks, but what about the jobs. Seems like the County is going to lose a lot of money on this deal. A bad sign for all of KC and so many people who make their living from the sports game.

DeleteHate to agree with TKC on this one but he's right. I have been a season ticket holder for 5 years and I don't know anybody who likes this new policy. It's aimed at fans who love the team, it's going to ruin a really great tradition. The Chiefs are showing us that they don't care about the people who watch the games at home, in the stands or showing their pride while tailgating. Can't help but feel like this is the beginning of the end for a lot of the most loyal fans like myself.

Seriously...sonthe chiefs said “well we did it because the NFL recommends it”. Goodell is a moron, and the NFL is broken. Penalties and commercials is all you get. It’s like the NFL is turning into the KC star....less of the meat and more of the advertising with a big ol heap of political correctness run amok.

ReplyDeleteThe earlier reports said the change had to do with the guy getting beaten to death for trying to get into the wrong car. How that figures in to this directive coming down from on high (NFL rec) I don't know but one fan comment asked, "Because of one incident, everything has to change?”
ReplyDeleteTo that I say, Yes. Because this is America now. We don’t hold trouble makers & guilty people responsible for their actions. We lock down & inconvenience law abiding citizens’ activity to seem like something is being done to make us all "safe".
My take on the tailgate only people is that they get to participate in the game day atmosphere but not have to pay for, and put up with, tickets, security, expensive food & beverage and sardine spaced rows of tiny, tiny seats. Clark & Co. should cough up some of their millions to make this better, not shut it down. Also, are they having trouble selling stadium seats right now? If so, that's the reason for the crack down (not the NFL). They don't mind the hoi polloi as long as every seat is sold.
Really who cares? Waa-waa, I can't stay in the parking lot and get drunker than I was when I first got here. It doesn't matter, all of this is becoming more and more irrelevant. NFL = Not For Long
