TKC MUST SEE!!! RIGGED KANSAS CITY TOY TRAIN STREETCAR MOVING FORWARD ON OUTSIDE ALIGNED TRACKS!!!

Whilst dreaming of money from the Feds, Kansas City's favorite mode of transit for vacations and day trips is advancing a plan that was approved by a carefully selected smallish group of voters despite a citywide vote for citywide participation that was ignored.

Accordingly, here's today's promo presser coverage . . .

"The Kansas City streetcar project team selected the lane alignments for the streetcar's extension south along Main Street. The 3.5-mile route will run from Union Station to the University of Missouri-Kansas City's Volker Campus, with eight new stops being added.

"The project team determined the streetcar would run along the outside lane of Main Street, as opposed to the center two lanes with medians at the stops. The stretch of Main Street running through Midtown is significantly wider than the streetcar's starter line, giving workers four to six lanes to build the project."

"The outside alignment was selected for being more pedestrian-friendly, and easier to integrate with Kansas City's bus system. It also would preserve the ability for cars to make left turns on Main Street, and allow for more on-street parking capacity, benefiting businesses along the corridor. It was also the most popular alignment, according to public feedback collected at two open house meetings."

In the Blogger comment window you use on TKC please add a solution counter in the form. This would make it easy for posters to check a box or something which indicates they posted a solution to some issue.

In your “posted by Tony” field in the main window the number of solutions along with “solutions” would be displayed next to the word “comment”. The solution counter would increment the same way the number of comments increments.

The purpose of this is so Go4KC can visually see how many solutions your kick ass readers have posted for each topic. Go4KC is always asking for solutions so why not have a quick way to see how many solutions have been posted.

    1. Wouldn't that "solutions" number just forever be zero?

  3. Go4KC only posts what the mayor dictates. We can propose all the solutions we want, but it won't make a difference.

When the city voted 70-30 against the toy frou frou, the mayor said he was not going to accept the vote, and in his final year of office, he has no reason to change that position.

It will be very interesting to see what the mayor's next career will be. And where.

  9. I sure hope this project works.
It will reduce crime- which is the mayors #1 priority.
I plan to support it by buying a cup of coffee somewhere and maybe riding it in 2027... if it’s still around.
This almost billion dollar total cost is worth it! Poor KC families will benefit for sure! No one knows how but rest assured free Give always are
    Always cool!

  12. I knew this was going to happen when I saw all the major work being done on the Penn Valley wall of rocks along Main Street. The city has never invested so much rebuilding that wall, and it's obvious they are doing that for the Streetcar. They don't want the rocks falling down on the tracks. Buses and cars would just drive around the rocks, but the Streetcar would be stuck.
