Practical advice and important perspective in this ongoing local debate and false dichotomy betwixt gun rights vs. public safety
Checkit:
Northeast News: Mayor’s gun violence rhetoric falls short
Money line . . .
"Maybe instead of trying to subvert state and federal law and attempting to enact what he calls “common sense” gun legislation at the local level, Mayor James can have a sit-down with the county prosecutor and her staff to make some inquiries as to why her office continually refuses to enforce federal statutes and sentencing minimums when gun crimes are committed by people forbidden to have guns!
"If safer streets are the end game here, lets start enforcing the laws – federal statutes, no less -already on the books, instead of proposing what amounts to feel-good legislation designed to subvert the second amendment of the constitution."
You decide . . .
Be fair to the mayor. He's not serious about taking away guns. It just sounds good when he's running for his next office.
ReplyDeletehe's not serious.
ReplyDeleteWhen was the last time that much of anything involving "common sense" came out of either Sly's mouth or city hall?
ReplyDeleteJust another complete abrogation of the most basic responsibility of a municipal elected official.
At least Sly was wearing his best clown outfit when he made the comment.
And the chief looks like he'd rather be pretty much anywhere other than where he found himself.
As has been said before, if the mayor seriously believes that more gun control laws are the answer, he can prove that to us by buying a home on the west side of Chicago and moving there once his term is up. This places him right in the most fun part of the nation's most gun-regulated city.
ReplyDeleteMaking good people helpless does not make bad people harmless.
ReplyDeleteNortheast news and tkc, my only source of local news.
ReplyDeleteAnd before "basement boy" jumps in, this issue is not about the pro-gunners yelling, "muh guns! muh guns!" It's about how ineffective "common sense" laws are and how the laws have zero effect on criminals. Maybe Sly can talk to his primary constituents and tell them to join the human race - you know the race of people who respect the lives and property of others, aren't on welfare, and don't get high and drunk each and every day. Mayor, detail some characteristics you would like to see in your community, such as more HUSBANDS rather than baby daddies, more responsibility for safe environments. Detail these characteristics using direct, simple language and ask your constituents to strive for these basic, human race concepts. Ask teachers in the community to review the basic examples of human decency daily. ask parents and church members to reinforce the messages of civility and decency, compassion and responsibility to your constituents. It's amazing how scarce those traits are in very specific areas of our community. Mayor, do that! Ask your community to live by a decency standard. Ask them to quit drinking malt liquor, put on shirts with sleeves, hitch up their pants, and get a J.O.B. to support their family without resorting to crime and violence. Prove you are a leader rather than an empty-promise windbag.
ReplyDelete^^WHAT EVERY INTELLIGENT, CONTRIBUTING, AND MORALLY DECENT PERSON OF *A*L*L* DEMOGRAPHICS AGREES WITH!!!!!!
DeleteThat's what the airport job is for. They are pushing for housing near the site, childcare, transportation, tools, training, work clothes, boots and hopefully a no-show union job.
ReplyDeleteAin't NOBUDY EVAR gunna take muh guns! I'd like to see you fellers try and whut not and so forth! I gots a 2cnd amended right to have muh gunz! Pew pew pew!
ReplyDeleteYOU DAMNED PEOPLE SHUT UP!
ReplyDeleteMayor James is at least doing something to fix the terrible situation that Jefferson City has forced on the innocent population of Kansas City, and I don't understand why none of you can seem to recognize the incredibly wonderful leadership he has been providing to this City! The Mayor is an Attorney, and he knows far, far more than any of you about the Law, and knows far better than you what is the best thing for you and for the people of this Great City! Instead of constantly criticizing him, you should be grateful that he bothers to improve your pitiful lives.
LISTEN TO THOSE WHO ARE SMARTER THAN YOU WILL EVER BE!
The fact that 10:41am's parody of the kind of ridiculous comments that come from Go4KC actually very much resembles the kinds of nonsense that clown constantly posts make it difficult to know whether to laugh or cry.
ReplyDeleteAnd this will all descend further, as though that may be hard to believe, as Sly slowly fades into the sunset.
Or in his case, maybe that's an eclipse.
Sad.
Typical of Go4KC blaming somebody else for KCMO's problems. Go4KC should read some of the excellent ideas posted on TKC about how to try and solve the problem and report them to the mayor. Oh, that's right these excellent ideas do not fit the narrative and group think of city hall. These ideas also do not always require additional taxes on the people and money funneled to the mayor.
ReplyDeleteQuoted from Go4KC; "knows far better than you what is the best thing for you and for the people of this Great City"
ReplyDeleteTypical garbage spewing from a Democrats mouth. If one does not think or believe the way they do then you are wrong. Big government at its best.
" the terrible situation that Jefferson City has forced on the innocent population of Kansas City."
ReplyDeleteIf Go4KC thinks the population of KCMO is innocent he is delusional. If the population od KCMO is so innocent why is KCMO's murder rate so high?
Until KCPDs gun squad detectives get serious about going after felons with guns, the prosecutor get serious about enforcing laws already on the books, KCPD test firing and connecting guns to unsolved crimes and the ATF doing searches on seized guns to find out how they got in the hands of felons, nothing the Mayor or Council will do will stop the carnage in KC
ReplyDelete^^^So if any news organization is willing to do a story. KCPD failed to test fire guns for years to connect with crimes and only recently started doing it. Look into how many cases the gun squad has presented to the Prosecutor this decade versus last decade and see the drop. Look at how many gun cases are prosecuted now compared to before Peters took office. So until the system gets serious about holding criminals responsible than don’t say anything about law abiding citizens having guns!
ReplyDelete@ 10:48,
ReplyDelete"Laugh, and the World laughs with you!"
"Cry, and Reality rears its Ugly Head!"
(trust me on this, my Friend)
Ha ha ha ha -
Ho, ho, ho, ho -
Chuckle, chuckle, chuckle, chuckle -
Guffaw, guffaw, guffaw...
Felons with guns ?!?! Heck, blain the FBI, they can pass background checks. That fella that traded a pistol for an AK47 passed. If the libtard gun control crowd had not pushing early release from prison deals for the downtrodden he would hav still be in jail in Oklahoma and a upstanding Indian man would still be alive. Screw the pinko left.
ReplyDeleteThat wasn't me, Mayor, you told me not to post, and I didn't - I swear!
ReplyDeleteYes it was, the post at 12:33 is not mine!
ReplyDeleteIS TOO!
ReplyDeleteIS NOT!
ReplyDeleteThe preceding posts under the identity of "Go4KC" require some explanation.
ReplyDeleteAs with the works of the great author William Shakespeare, there are controversies as to the true identity of the author.
And in the instance of "Go4KC" there is an exact parallel with Shakespeare, in that not all of the posts may be by "Go4KC", but instead some of them may be by someone with EXACTLY THE SAME NAME.
We sincerely hope this clears up any confusion. Thank you.
Go4KC is Gay4KC. He is a faggot homosexual.
ReplyDeleteGo4kc.is a paid hack. Suck up .And the community knows. He could be the worst Mayor in decades. WHEN IT COMES TO CRIME. AND MANY PRESS CONFERENCES WITH EXCUSES. AND THEY WILL NAME A BRIDGE AFTER HIM THE SLY,BRIDGE.
ReplyDeleteMayor James is always trying to push the blame off on anything he can think of over doing what is right. But then when has he ever done anything right since being in office?
ReplyDelete9:13--Thanks for telling the plain and simple truths. Maybe, the next mayor will help remove the worst of the shitholeness from this corrupt Killa City Cowtown.
