THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! KANSAS CITY, KANSAS SCHLITTERBAHN VERRÜCKT TEAR DOWN DELAY AND THE SHADOW OF DEATH OVER THE METRO!!!

There's still so much about this story that deserves examination beyond MSM "virtue-signaling" about safety regs that nobody really cares about . . .
In many ways, this story reflects MSM fail inasmuch as the tragic decapitation is a widely reported fact everywhere but inside the KC metro . . . Moreover, the all out Kansas political vendetta to chase the owners out of town is actually a real world reminder that some people do take public safety very seriously . . .
But more than all of this, the monument serves as an ongoing reminder and cautionary tribute to so much local tragedy that, sadly, even befalls the innocent . . .
Here's a somewhat recent reminder that the deadly icon will continue to stand for the immediate future:
Plans to tear down Schlitterbahn’s Verrückt water slide on hold
Deets:
Verruckt’s demolition might be delayed because of disagreements over which parts of the slide should be preserved as possible evidence in the multiple criminal cases filed in connection to Caleb’s death.
The state has asked that experts be allowed to inspect the slide one more time.
The water park’s attorneys filed a response Wednesday, questioning the need for another inspection of the slide.
A court hearing on the issue is scheduled for next week.
And all of this inspires tonight's playlist:
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.
Kinda harsh.
ReplyDeletebut they need to tear that damn thing down.
NOW!
Real danger is when a helmet won't help.
ReplyDeleteThey have been telling Byron that for years.
DeleteTearing it down without collecting evidence would be stupid. It may not be the best public relations sign but I am glad to see that there is an effort to get Justice in this case and take time to thoroughly investigate what was basically a crime scene.

DeleteStupid what crime scene do you know that stands for two years? I understand the need to investigate but if you tear the slide down then no one else will ever get hurt on it. I'm really surprised that the company is still in business I don't know who would ever let there loved ones visit that Park in good conscience. But basically agree that we need to close the books and the case on this one and let KCK move forward.
Dex you ignorant slut. Speaking again about that which you know nothing about? There have been crime scenes that have been preserved longer than two years. The main evidence in this case is the slide itself. It can't be packed in a box and stuck on a shelf till it goes to trail. Since this is a touchy case and say I was a defence lawyer I'd want the damn thing to stay up till trial was over with. So don't be surprised if this thing hangs around a little longer. The rule of thumb time limit for a police investigation is two years for misdemeanors and typically five years on felonies. There is no set time to clear a crime scene. Some crime scenes can be kept closed for years until trial. That doesn't happen very often but the agents, officers or state attorneys may want to keep a crime scene intact and can do so in the event of very serious crimes.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the Hyatt sky walks that collapsed here 40 years ago? Are parts thestill in some warehouse?
ReplyDeleteCan I ride the slide while we wait years for it to get torn down! I mean hell, it’s ok as long as no kids ride it!!!
ReplyDelete@ Dex: Using your logic then the Hotel FKA The Hyatt would be torn down. Almost all of the area in the 64130 & 64131 zip codes would be torn down, I-435 and US 71 would be torn down and on and on. Do you realize that in the first year of Worlds of Fun a kid was hit by a roller coaster and it is still open 45 years later.
ReplyDeleteI suggest that they "dismantle" the thing and lay it out on the ground where they don't need big lifts to get up and look at stuff on it they believe are contributing factors. Just leave it fenced off lying in the grass for now, like a dead body.
8:22 just wear a good neck brace
