We've clowned this video for YEARS because it features a laughable opening money shot that speaks to the soul of every TKC reader . . .
However, our favorite number crunchers at Show-Me actually did the math on the pricey production and offer an apt conclusion . . .
"About the time the contract to produce the Water Department video was signed, Mayor James declined a request by the Missouri Auditor to look into the department due to complaints his office received. Given ever-increasing water rates and this questionable expense, perhaps that decision should be revisited."

ReplyDeleteOnce you understand the basic fact that most of KCMO government is little more than a giant slush fund for any grifting consultant, attorney, salesman, developer, or big idea clown to fund their "dreams", ridiculous "projects" like this video make all the sense in the world.
ReplyDeleteThe "priorities" of KCMO government are whatever somebody can convince the empty vessels at 12th and Oak of their great idea.
Sometimes it's a $15K trip to Vegas.
Or a $25K video.
And sometimes it's a $1.5 billion airport terminal.
But it's always the same.
