St. Louis area women say they were denied job because of 'ghetto' name
A St. Louis area woman's Facebook post is going viral after she was denied a job with a local company because of her "ghetto" name. Hermeisha Robinson posted to her page Monday that she applied for a customer service representative position with Mantality Health in Chesterfield.
While this company is ballsey in admitting it, I think this is a very common practice. When I was a hiring manager, ghetto applications went straight into the shredder.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she could use Herm as her name. That makes it sound like she wasn’t named by a crackhead mother.
ReplyDelete“as they seen on my resume”? Maybe she dint get hired because of her lack of proper grammar?
ReplyDeleteSnowflake having a meltdown. Blame the parents.
ReplyDeleteI cant be eben gettin a job at Penners. i be wondrun.
ReplyDeleteI be bettin' dat dis is a hoax.
ReplyDeleteIf you wants to be impotent, you gots to looka impotent.
ReplyDeleteWell, if the ghetto name doesn't get them disqualified, and they get away with poor grammar, the nasty chest and neck tattoos will cinch the applicant's denial. Perhaps Hermeisha should go by Hermeisha "Cindy" Robinson.
ReplyDeleteMy thought, too, 721. And, what about all the made-up names Indian telecom employees use (Bob, Susie, etc.) -- why not just make up a name?
ReplyDeleteAnd, what the hell is "Mantality" Health??
Weird. I've gotten a lot of jobs using my thug moniker HitDatAss Jefferson. I've been employed as an armed robber, burglar, drug dealer, lots of opportunities!
ReplyDeleteNow that negro is funny,so was that niger Richard Pryor.
DeleteSympathy for blacks misbehavior is ending.
ReplyDeleteNot from Jean Petersucker Baker. She prosecuted criminals with sympathy and tolerance.
DeleteExcuse me folks but their is a whole other side to this story that was made news even yesterday. But MSM doesn't really want that out yet since they like this version of the story better.
ReplyDeleteSimply put, the person in question of making these comments didn't do so and this wasn't the only person who received such an e-mail. Appears a disgruntled ex employee who knew some passwords was able to log into the system and send out the fake e-mail. Law enforcement is looking into to the matter trying determine who.
Fake but true news. Gibberish names lead to gibberish lives.
ReplyDeleteWas this ANOTHER negro killing ? Man those Black Lives Sure Do Matter.......lol.
ReplyDeleteWhy would any sane employer be GLAD to have even one Black employee ?
ReplyDeleteI’m betting that this turns out to be a scam
