The reality is that access to Internets outlets isn't a right, most often it's a collaborative agreement with larger providers.
Moreover, we're not sure we agree with cutesy remarks that "TKC is the Alex Jones of Kansas City" given that we've never screamed about gay frogs or lizard people and we discuss local shooting rather than deny that they happen. The roots of TKC are in community journalism and our aspirations direct us toward rags like Page 6 & Brit tabloids . . . Neither of which are leveraged by social media access like Infowars. Truth be told, the page performs far better as a blog than on any other outlet and we're happy to have the support of TENS OF THOUSANDS OF VISITORS TO THIS BLOG EVERY DAY!!!
But things change and nothing is forever.
The course of any local election could threaten to take TKC down along with the whims of frustrated politicos. Thankfully, more media competitors are local and their influence is fading every day.
Our blog champions free speech and proves to be the best place for local commentary, over the past year we've crack down against SPAM because it was mostly just waged by haters in an attempt to create false flag arguments against our blog community. And there is the main point, TKC IS A PLATFORM FOR A KICK-ASS COMMUNITY OF READERS AND CIVIC-MINDED KC RESIDENTS DEDICATED TO THE LOCAL DISCOURSE . . . And Alex Jones is more of a personality.
Not trying to be humble but I realize most people visit this blog to read and make comments not because of any brilliance shared within the content body of posts.
And so, TKC endures and abides for as long as humanly possible and whilst alternative media suffers severe push back from the mainstream.

Silicone Valley oligarchs have astonishing control over the dissemination of information. They are, without exception, agenda driven, global companies who care not a fuckin whit for middle class Americans.
In China and other countries, their obsequious adherence to policies, determined by totalitarian regimes, that maintain the status quo for dictators and tyrants is well known. Here in the USA, they are anxious and happy in anticipation of the same type of Group Think, Thought Leaders running the show.
They, those same Silicon Valley Companies are UN-AMERICAN and as in the majority of the 4th Estate. ENEMIES OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

ReplyDeleteI'm a total lib but I think this is bad for America. The companies are within their right to do it but it seems like an orchestrated effort. Jones is right to raise some suspicion here but the irony is that he should have been removed from these networks a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteFreedom of speech was nice while it lasted. The only bright side here is that there needs to be new innovation on the internet to protect it. This shows that the larger commercial online networks are exercising their rights too and have opened the door to alternatives. In the end, the free market decides. I'm not saying they're wrong for banning him, that is their prerogative. Jones should have seen it coming.
