President Trump, stop calling us 'enemies of the people' | The Kansas City Star

President Donald Trump has veered into perilous territory with his assault on the free press and the First Amendment. His references to journalists as the "enemy of the American people" are no less dangerous because they happen to be strategic.

  1. KC Star the puppet of KC's 1%.

  2. Oh the MSM has lied and covered crap for years and will continue to do so. News is no longer the news it's all the views and opinions of the owners or their minions and of what they think you should be thinking about and only thinking about.

  3. So the Star is attempting the flatter themselves. I don’t think Trump evens knows the piece of shit Star exists.

  4. The breathtaking hypocrisy of the Legacy Media's claims to "Objectivity" while 92% of all coverage of Trump continues in the usual pejorative vein is boilerplate Progressive/Alinsky bullshit.

"Democracy Dies In Darkness" should read, "We Are The Borg Resistance Is Futile". The incessant calls for impeachment. The obfuscation of any positive news while emphasizing negative news. The suppression of relative context and distortion of an honest narrative.

The aggregate power of that same Legacy Media is the cudgel used to brain the brainless into submission before any question the motives, the arrogant self regard and narcissism of MSNBC-CNN-ABC etc. etc. talking heads whose fame and fortune are tied inexorably to the Progressive/Fascist cause. Agenda driven drivel dripped into the mouths of little bird brained, anally incontinent "geezer haters" satiates the olfactory "resist" response in sub human, uneducated, wet by every rain and blown by every wind, liberal loser who, intrinsically knows, he/she/it will never have an original thought.

    Fuck the 4th Estate.

THE MEDIA IS THE ENEMY OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

  5. The Star should be telling no one what to think. Most people do not subscribe to group think.
The Star has always covered up actual happenings and will continue to do so. If the Star was as good as they think they are they would hold city hall accountable and not cover for them.

  6. Remember, TKC is also news media.

    Conservative or liberal doesn't matter.

    Don't ever question Dear Leader.

    You are the enemy.

  7. If The Star isn't the enemy of the people, it sure isn't the friend either since no one wants to subscribe or read it. If they'd put together a quality product they'd surely gain some of it back if it weren't too late, but I'm guessing it is. Sad to see a once proud kansas city establishment shit itself in embarrassment over the last 5 or so years.

  8. the local newspaper is no longer concerned with finding and reporting the truth.

the reporters are there for other reasons than objective truth: promoting an agenda.

  9. Over sixty million people receive there news over alternative media the mainstream is loosing readers and viewer's THE investigative, reporting in alternative media is the best.

  10. If the media is the enemy of the people as the Trump-ets claim, then it should be no problem to erase them from our consciousness. The TV news goes silent, the newspapers go away, the internet shuts it all down and we're left with our silent thoughts. I'm for it. Let's go.

  11. The Star is an enemy to anyone who can read and think for themselves. It’s pathetically funny the Star thinks it’s still relevant enough for anyone to take it seriously. Someone needs to pull the plug and put it out of its misery.

  12. The Star isn't the enemy of the people but it is the enemy of objective journalism.

  13. The press should be supportive of the elected president who ever he or she is.

  14. I was visiting my senior citizen parents and they had this little skinny paper. I thought it must be the Examiner or the Penny Saver.
Nope, sadly it was the Kansas City Star.

  15. The Kansas City Star Editorial Board. Honestly, I'm still debating whether these people are actually this stupid or they're merely playing along with a pre-planned script continuing the President Trump vs. Fake News Media battle.

While I can't say that I hold much regard for any of them based upon their work product, a part of me just doesn't want to believe that someone who presumably earned a journalism degree could exhibit such a lack of intelligence and reasoning while harboring leftist conspiracy theories.

With this current nationwide coordinated media attack against President Trump (or should I say escalated ongoing attack) some on the opposite political side have even warned that they must be planning a high-profile staged attack against journalists, which will be conveniently blamed on a MAGA hat-wearing, purported KKK white supremacist, who's left a social media trail declaring his love and devotion to Trump. I'm just saying, don't be surprised at the lengths some will go to when affected by Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Can't we all just get along?

  16. He can't. They say things he doesn't like.

  17. Sounds like “Me Too” journalism.
They (KC Star) need a good business model... instead they piss off half of their readers with Editorials.
Here is an idea for them:
    1. Dissolve the Editorial Board. No one cares or is influenced. Better opinions exist elsewhere everywhere else on social media.
    2. Put more reporters to work. Won’t cost a dime extra...See idea 1.
    3. Cover the President impartially...fire reporters that don’t conform.
    4. Use the Public for photography... everyone is an expert and it will engage more people likely to subscribe...Revenue!
    5. Answer your phones in America... worst hypocrisy ever! Bring the voices back and man the complaint desk.

  18. Soooo, the President doesn't like the negative coverage he brings upon himself so they're the dishonest media. This is coming from the guy who puts bullshit to shame with the amount of lies he puts out everyday via twitter or wherever else. Yet, here on TKC, people eat the shit sandwich Trump serves as if it's their last meal.

Fact is, your boy Drumpf, brings all this negative coverage on himself. But to you fucking rubes, "it's just a guy speaking his mind, he's just like us". Unfortunately, there's a 33% base that thinks (I use that term loosely, because everyone else knows you assholes really don't think) this way. It's fucking sad. When did being stupid become the 'in' thing in the US?

Fucking idiocracy we live in day in and day out.

  19. BTW, where do you assholes get your news from? WTF do you consider a 'good' source?

  20. 8:08/8:10 comment (same person)

If anyone "eats the shit sandwich" served up by "Drumpf" (you're the only one still using that name that never caught traction) it's only because they hate the corporate media more than politicians.

Apparently, you don't understand this fact. Enough people have woken up to the realization of corporate media propaganda that they enjoy Trump publicly poking them with a sharp stick. Whether or not they're strong Trump supporters is beside the fact. It's entertaining to see so-called news media lampooned.

Let's go deeper and start discussing on this forum some higher meaning. The Right versus Left charade is boring and simply designed to keep us distracted. The media deserve credit for getting Trump elected, as they made him the center of attention during the primaries and general. Trump's ascension to the White House was actually planned years ago. You ever hear of a show called The Apprentice? Did you ever wonder why a billionaire real estate developer would go on a reality TV show? It's called establishing a positive national profile before entering politics.

Don't be an asshole, respond intelligently.

  21. Yael taught me in the late 80's that "freedom of the press" stops at the editor's desk. He purposely misquoted me in several articles while fighting tax increases in KCMO. I've always used his lesson to my benefit since. The Red Star, as we used to call it, carefully manipulated the stories so editors could be invited to BBQ's and parties that make them feel they make a contribution.

  22. The media's high opinion of themselves is shared by almost on one else. The KC Star is more a tool of progressive Democrats than Pravda was of the Communist Party.

    ReplyDelete
  23. 9:48 - So, where do I go to get my news from? You never answered that. Is all media corporate? Seriously, really curious what you consider good news sources.

I think the problem is, you don't like facts unless they fit your preconceived narrative. So, when a news source reports on a Trump tweet does this hack you off? He does lie in his tweets and the media calls him on it. Is this unfair? In a nutshell, I don't think you like news unless it's "your" news.

  24. Ok, I tried, but you're so angry and defensive that you didn't address anything I wrote. So much for a meaningful discussion. And we likely share more in common than we disagree.

The Right vs. Left tactic is working wonderfully against our best interests. Do you even care?

Your own preconceived notions of what I believe and represent, blind you from seeking common ground with your imagined antithesis.

Most people have dropped out of paying attention to politics, their government, world geo-political affairs, etc. Most of those remaining on the field get swept aside by participating in the contrived Democrat vs. Republican political war. Many of these people are otherwise very intelligent, but their competitive nature gets them embroiled in superficial arguments. This is by design, as it successfully distracts and then alienates them from those whom they could build positive coalitions with. When asked, we should all identify ourselves as political Independents, as this forces others to actually listen to our words rather than impose their own biased preconceptions.

Now, though you didn't address my points, I'll answer your pleading question. Corporate news would include (as the phrase implies) generally large concentrated media which serves at the behest of a corporate oligarchy. As of several years ago, there were 6 media conglomerates that controlled 90-percent of what Americans read, watched, or listened to. I believe it's now down to 4-5. This means, of course, lack of competition and presentation of biased political views. When I consume corporate media, and I do, it's more to stay abreast of what the propagandists are pushing on the public. I rely upon trusted individuals, social critics, authors, bloggers, libraries, databases, etc., to help shape my "truth filter" when interpreting the real news from the fake news.

And I don't pay attention to Trump's (or anyone else's) tweets.
