KCPD sees spike in Northland burglaries where homeowners leave garage doors open
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Police say people living in the Northland are basically inviting criminals to steal their cars, and criminals are taking advantage. Detective Ryan Abel said Monday he's investigating a series of burglaries where suspects enter homes through garage doors homeowners have left open.

Northland is not immune to crime. We think the guys doing this stuff are teens who probably come from some of the wealthiest families up there. And, if you don't lock your car and keep your garage door closed, well....you can't fix stupid, can you?
