HAPPY ROCK GOP POLITICO CONFRONTS REBUKE OVER HATE SPEECH AFTER SURPRISING WIN NORTH OF KANSAS CITY!!!
A Northland contender is called out by his opposition for a series of nasty quotes and social media chatter.
Credit where it's due . . . I'm sure a fading Kansas City magazine had to work very hard to reprint this presser from the Missouri Democratic Party.
Nevertheless, shooting fish in a barrel can be exceptionally fun and this write-up was entertaining.
Pitch: Northland Republican Steve West wins Missouri House primary, is not a fan of the Jews
MSM followed up the story and came away with this nasty quote:
“Looking back in history, unfortunately, Hitler was right about what was taking place in Germany. And who was behind it,” West said on a show on KCXL radio on Jan. 23, 2017.
Incumbent Democrat Jon Carpenter offers the money line after a litany of silly, hateful quotes and links are chronicled . . .
"I am shocked that the Republican Party even accepted this man's filing fee to run under the banner of their party. I am also dismayed that he won the 4-way Republican primary yesterday, beating his nearest competitor by 25 points."
Carpenter adds: "This is anti-semitism, Islamaphobia, homophobia, and racism to a degree that truly shocks the conscience. It is my hope that folks who voted for [West] in the Republican primary weren't aware of any of this stuff. I sincerely hope that's true."
And here's another not-so-fun fact that locals will also overlook amid so many silly season efforts to prey upon the emotions of voters . . .
While the guy deserves to be smacked down for his stupidity and take responsibility for his statements . . . Here's a small point of contention in defense of low information voters on the SORDID TOPIC OF TIMING THIS ELECTION REPORT . . . Notice that outcry against this douche wasn't put on blast until AFTER HE WON THE PRIMARY AND PROBABLY ELIMINATED FAR BETTER REPUBLICAN OPPOSITION. And so we can stand against this kind of nasty talk sideshow but also notice that it didn't really trouble Democratic leaders and MSM until more suitable and serious challenges to the incumbent were eliminated from the contest . . . And this fact of life should offer just a bit more perspective on so much self-righteous indignation that isn't really news but simply politics as usual and yet another local power play employing justified concern from voters against hateful language to manipulate election outcomes.
