ST. LOUIS, MO - New data from the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri shows the state's public schools are not only failing students of color and students with disabilities, they're getting worse. According to the group, Missouri has the 10th highest gap between black and white K-12 students in the nation for out-of-school suspensions.

The Obama Administration directed the DOJ to SUE school districts who didn't drink the koolaid.
Mac Donald notes that when the Obama administration sees a school district where black students are disciplined at a rate significantly greater than that of whites or Hispanics, federal litigation can follow.

The truth is the truth and facts are facts. Social engineering solutions proffered by Progressives are counterproductive, pernicious and endanger students, teachers and most certainly wreck any chance of an education in what is already, a failing public school system.

In fact, here in Kansas City, we should consider the "Plaza To Prison Pipeline", where, once again, black children are discriminated against and not given "Room To Destroy". I would guess if you looked at suspension rates for white students who have no fathers, being raised by welfare mothers the results would be similar to black students. And if you looked at black students who were in a two parent household with parents who had jobs their suspension rates would be similar to white students. The problem is the terrible home situation too many black children are in. But to blame the schools for the outcome is political correctness run amok.

I moved from a Black school to a white school prembroke, and the fights, drugs, etc I saw were much higher in the "white" school however "lil johnnys a good kid" excuse and affluneza carried the day whereas in the kcps school not answering the bigoted teacher fast enough resulted in a visit to the school police officer. So yay blacks kids get a raw deal. And I am a white conservative and even I can admit that and move on.

ReplyDeleteThe implication of the article is that schools should go easier on black offenders. It has been tried already. Treyvon Martin was treated in a similar fashion by his school, and it cost him his life.
ReplyDeleteMy sister-in-law taught for 30+ years in Florissant (STL suburb). As the demographics of the school changed, so did her stories. By the time she retired, it was unreal the stuff “students” were doing, and teachers had to tread very lightly to avoid claims of racism. The ACLU should be happy the troublemakers only got suspended. In a real school district, they would have been expelled.

Quota systems do not work and this type of system means we would need fewer blacks in sports, hip hop and rap music, crime, uninsured motorists, school drop outs, drug dealers etc. It would mean we need more blacks in tennis, swimming, golf, NASCAR, country music, high school graduates, bowling, etc. The question is where the quota BS stops. When someone talks about fewer blacks in certain things they are called racists.

Could it be that the 10 x rate is because there are 10x as many African Americans as Whites? I take any study that states this kind of information and does not show the actual statistics with a grain of salt. It is kind of like the "unnamed source" articles.
