Basically, you can't stop anywhere in Midtown Kansas City without confronting one of these poor souls looking for help and cash to feed addictions . . . At the outset of this Summer the problem reached critical mass with even the most progressive locals wanting a solution. While efforts to curtail this behavior have met with legal challenges . . . The hope here is that careful language could crackdown on this local trend.

ReplyDeleteThere already was a law on the books, they’re trying to cover up the fact that they don’t care about the problem which is of epic proportions and covers the entire city not just midtown. This problem has been allowed to happen under sLIE’s tenure, he’s to blame for this entire debacle.

ReplyDeleteIt's surprising that city hall is concerned about panhandling considering they participate in so much of it themselves.
ReplyDeleteAn endless line of people with their hands out looking for something from the taxpayers.
And council members and mayors schmoozing and trying to find places to land after they're term-limited out the door.
It's just that the city hall stuff takes place among people wearing nice clothes, behind closed doors, or even at the Chamber board room.
Maybe Loar could try to get a handle on that.
It's WAY more costly to the taxpayers.
The KCMO City Council are nothing but glorified panhandlers.
