Jail Fallout Looms Large For Jackson County Executive Hopefuls

Tuesday's Democratic primary for Jackson County Executive pits incumbent Frank White against two challengers: Matthew Merryman and Jeremy Raines, both of Kansas City. The next county executive will inherit a slew of issues that have roiled White's tenure, which started when he was appointed in 2016.
That written statement mentioned in the KCUR story from "Frank White's spokesperson" definitely crosses the line. She is supposed to be the Jackson County Public Information Officer, not Frank White's political spokesman, writing about him wanting to continue serving as county executive while he's running for re-election. She's a public employee being paid by the county's taxpayers, including White's political opponents, so no way should she be allowed to write political statements on Frank White's behalf.
ReplyDeleteMight have been nice if The Star had done one in-depth story on the county executive election, on Frank White's incompetence and the fact he's got the state and feds investigating him for corruption. On his dumbest day Merryman is still ten times smarter than Frank White.
ReplyDeleteAfter hearing Merryman be interviewed I can see why Frank White has been avoiding voter forums and his own interview requests. He looks like an idiot compared to Merryman.
