A good government effort that was partly inspired by $600 coffee maker was made official this week . . .
Whilst the $100K investigation might prove productive . . . A myriad of public confrontations and online name calling have dominated politics in this suburban enclave and might prove hard to quantify via state fact finders.
Still, here's the good news . . .
Fox4: After signatures verified on petition, state to audit Clay County government spending

The group submitted more than 9,100 signatures to the state, seeking an audit of Clay County operations. The citizens group said every mayor in Clay County signed the petition as well as about 70 current or former elected leaders.
On Friday, Steph Deidrick, a spokesperson for the Missouri State Auditor’s Office, confirmed the agency has received word the signatures have been verified, and there are more than enough to conduct an audit.
Now, Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway’s office will work toward scheduling that audit.

Good for the audit, I think it will uncover much corruption and mis-spent money in clay county.

Take a closer look at the recent history of political activity in Clay County and you will find that a few developers have been trying to control Clay County for many years. Millions of dollars in TIF and other incentives are at stake. Commissioner Nolte has received substantial contributions from the developers and Jeff Roe has been heavily involved. This petition is a tactic in the plan of Jeff Roe and his developer clients to return Clay County to the control of the developers. Many well-intentioned people have signed the petition; but, they have been duped. Commissioner Nolte has been leading the effort to create controversy in order to discredit the other officeholders in the hope that the others can be easily defeated. Nolte is a puppet for the developers and their consultants who want to control Clay County.
