Union Comeback Starts In Kansas City?!?!

An encouraging sign of locals organizing for collective bargaining rights OR the last stand for American labor in flyover country.

Either way, here's a glimpse at campaigning with a working-class spin that should resonate throughout the state despite cynical rhetoric hoping to get voters to forget that poor people from every demographic have more in common with each other than they do with corporate owners.

Union members in Kansas City launch campaign against Prop A

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A rally Tuesday at Pipe-Fitters Local 553 in Kansas City signaled the start of the ground campaign against the Right to Work measure known as Prop A. Prop A would mean workers in a union shop would not have to pay union dues. Many unions are against Prop A.

  1. KC needs to utilize the state line to attract businesses. Kansas is a right to work, Missouri should stay the way it is. That way any company looking at the area can evaluate which law best fits their needs. KC still gets the win.

  2. It's not about protecting the workers rights.
It's about keeping the Democrats in office.

If it was about workers rights, I would gladly pay my fair share.

  3. ^^Absolutely correct!
Here's a snippet from The Free Beacon I found this am show expenditures -

SEIU Local 1000 is a major player in California politics. It spent more than $8.8 million on political activities and lobbying in 2017, about half of the money it collected from represented workers through their local unions, according to its most recent federal labor filing. The union spent only $345,621 "on behalf of individual members" over that time—less than 2 percent of the $17.8 million it collected from employees.

It's all about workers rights, NOT!

  4. ^^^ I'm not in a union but they are playing the game. How much do American corporations spend bribing, I mean lobbying politicians?
