THE TKC SATURDAY NIGHT PLAYLIST!!! KANSAS CITY SUMMER ANIMAL SHELTER OVERFLOW CRISIS WORSENS: THINK ABOUT ADOPTING A NEW FRIEND!!!

Whilst this blog is mostly dedicated to human suffering & political posturing, here's a brief respite and maybe an idea that might make life a little nicer for our otherwise cantankerous blog community . . .

THINK ABOUT ADOPTING A PET AMID SUMMER 2018 KANSAS CITY ANIMAL SHELTER OVERLOAD!!!

Info on the sitch and a links to great places to think about getting a new friend . . .

Fox4: Animal shelters around the metro are at capacity right now, for a few reasons. One -- this is the busy season. Two -- a surge of recent animal abuse and neglect cases. Nearly 900 animals at KC Pet Project alone need a home.

A classic local, political hot take on the topic from the former Prez and friend of the KCMO Irish mob: “If you want a friend in Washington,” Harry Truman “get a dog.”

And these facts inspire our playlist for tonight . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe and fun Saturday night.

  1. Very nice public service and I applaud the effort to find your readers some friends.

But the reality is that we need to think about ending the "no kill" policy of so many local animal shelters in order to create more capacity and make our KCMO streets safer.

    1. Monster ^^^^ Typical tkc commenter, instead of promoting a solution that helps people, you go for the easiest way out and the most cruel approach to a situation. Shame on you!

    2. ^^ Calm down beatch. It's what most dog shelters do under the radar anyway. Or do you believe that all lost doggies go to play on a farm somewhere in Kansas?

  2. More maybe we should make life less complicated for KC cat ladies who horde their pets? Since there seem to be so many of them.

  5. SERIOUS QUESTION

Are all the employees and volunteers at local animal shelters Pro-Life just when it comes to pets, or do they also believe humans shouldn't be euthanized when the mother doesn't want it?

    I'll await your comments.

  6. Damn, that is deep but I am guessing the opposite it true just by the way politics usually line up.

  11. Not enough people dying yet for you? Why do you think the rich folks want to take your guns away? Guess you never gave it much thought have you shit head?

  12. Dogs in US shelters are treated better than coerced victims of the cartels. All abortions loving hypocrites crybabying about kiddies separated at the border from their "supposed" madres & padres need to mob up to march and protest about narco crimmies trafficking kiddies as sex and work slaves.

  13. Wheres that new shelter that the Silverback promised with the GO Bonds...all i see out of that is faggot bike lanes and sidewalks in tje shittiest neighborhoods

  14. Bike lanes that only go for a few blocks and stop, you mean those bike lanes? What a joke

  15. The new shelter Slie promised was just another lie. The money has probably been funneled to a developer. The new shelter is not on Slie's agenda. It was a ploy to get more tax dollars and get the Go Bond passed.

  16. Save the pets, but kill the babies!

  17. Its time to seriously rethink "no kill" policy. Take a walk through the Pet Project and you'll a majority of the dogs are pit bulls. Now I'm sure there are a few good ones there, but give it a minute. When dogs get chained up by shit owners in the hood, they get psychotic (ticking time bomb). And all these owners say is "I'm gonna breed 'em"
