JACKSON COUNTY, Mo. - Nearly 2,800 children in Jackson County are in foster care, and according to Jackson County Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, that number is growing. At the Jackson County CASA, there have already been 32 new cases involving 75 children appointed by the court in July.

  1. Those apartments on Waukomis have been nothing but a "Section 8 Warehouse" for forty years! The so-called Management Company has never even attempted to make repairs or improvements.

    Just another instance of why the City needs to establish minimum standards for occupancy and require re-inspection every time an apartment becomes vacant, and before it can be re-rented.

    Oh, and this is just another example of the FACT that the Northland has a much higher per capita level of "Section 98" housing than any other area of Kansas City, including the "Inner City"!
