Kansas City Chastain, Kobach, KCI Ruckus

Let's focus on an important and informative show tonight from the GOLD STANDARD OF KANSAS CITY POLITICAL DISCOURSE reviewing the talk of the town and the trends of the times.

Of special interest is that this local debate program spent a good portion of their time talking TKC FIRST NEWS . . .

Check the description:

"Mike Shanin interviews Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach about the key issues in his campaign to become the next governor of Kansas. Jon Stephens, Ron Freeman, Lisa Johnston and Patrick Tuohey discuss the gubernatorial candidate frontrunners in the upcoming Kansas primaries, the crowded race to become the next Kansas City mayor and validation of CFRG's concerns about the new KCI terminal."

  1. The airport part of the conversation was the most informative. Good comments on this one, we've just been sold a bad bill of goods that has been totally changed from what we initially vote on. Time for a recall.

A lot to unpack here but I think it's clear that Kobach has gone too far off the deep end to reasonably expect to hold the office of Governor. Even in Kansas. And that's saying a lot.

  2. Absolutely agree with @10:34, the airport is spiraling out of control and it could be too late to reign it in because it's a forgone conclusion that we're going to spend millions upon millions on something that only exists in drawings.

  3. i'm just glad taxpayers are paying anything for the airport.

  5. If politicians like council member Teresa Loar would stop running their mouths and were effective in their job we wouldn’t have this KCI fiasco. She’s always nagging about something and always gets nothing done.

  6. Agree completely with the posts here regarding KCI.

To say that the Airlines would refuse to pass on the cost of construction to their passengers, in other words, that the Airlines would REFUSE TO MAKE A PROFIT from flights into and out of the Kansas City Metro Area if the existing terminals were to be remodeled is probably the "Looniest" statement to come from Shannon or his Krewe of Klowns so far this year.

KC voters need to remember that the "70% Approval Vote" that City Hall claims happened WAS NOT A VOTE FOR A NEW AIRPORT! It was a vote that approved the use of Tax revenues to demolish Terminal A, and approval of the City Government proceeding with the selection of a Contractor to design and oversee construction of a new Terminal.

City taxes are being spent every day to "reimburse Edgemoor" for their ongoing work, including the still not finalized design or cost estimate.

Oh, and finally, I had been tending toward Kander, but if these five "Babbleheads" are unanimously in agreement against him, they have convinced me to vote for Clay Chastain.

  7. WooHoo! Another attack on Teresa Loar!

Somebody from the Mayor's Office is either up early or (far more Likely) getting home from a night of boozing pretty late!

So far they have anonymously slandered this woman almost every day, but their only motivation is that she has remained the only voice in opposition to the Mayor and Council's stampede to destroy KCI.

She has enough of a sense of dignity to fight back, something I lack completely, therefore...

You, Sir or Madam, are a COWARD! You are a sniveling LIAR! You are most probably a PERVERTED REPROBATE who spies on Children on school shower rooms! You have filthy personal habits and a dire need to BATHE MORE OFTEN!
You are also the poster on this site with the OBSESSION WITH FECES! Your entire family is a PACK OF INBRED METAL DEFECTIVES!

Now, you GUTLESS WONDER - you have a real target for your filthy spite - ME! I do not know, and have never met Ms. Loar, but I am a Northlander, and I know that she has a sterling reputation here.

SO, GUTLESS - PUT UP OR SHUT UP!l

  9. I have a cup of coffee at hand, and I'm fully grown, bring it on!
You gutless shitbirds have nothing to say, so all you can do is snark and deride people trying to have meaningful conversations, or in the instance of the COWARD, slander one of the more sincere political figures we have, so I welcome your scorn!
As I said Bunky, bring it on!
