Developer details plans for former KC Star building, will seek tax abatement
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Less than a month after newspaper staff vacated the building, the new owners of the former Kansas City Star building at 1729 Grand Blvd. have released details of the planned $95 million redevelopment.
Good, keep’em downtown with all the fairy’s, lesbos and trannies! It’s a match made in heaven!

ReplyDeleteO.K. this is funny, is this suppose to be because of the 25 million tourists?
This is the flipping funniest thing I've read beside the project at Troost and Armour that has killed Central Hyde Park...Makes sure you have parking for all of these Apartments and retail business, remember the horse goes before the cart. Downtown is DEAD unless it's a week day and everyone goes to work, or Saturday for a few hours at the market.
Ha Ha Ha Ha
Looks kinda cool to me
ReplyDeleteThat building is not structurally sound. It leans hard to the left.

Title: Authorizing the City Manager to execute a Development Agreement with 1729 Grand Boulevard, LLC, with respect to the development of the property located at 1729 Grand and the historic Kansas City Star Building.
Slam Dunk for the developer apparently
Developer will seek tax abatement. I'M FLABBERGASTED!!!
ReplyDeleteRegarding the planned $95 million redevelopment, 3D Development will request an Enhanced Enterprise Zone Tax Abatement of more than $39.5 million from the city and may (READ: will definitely) request a 1 percent community improvement district sales tax.
Mayor Sylvester and his cronies have taught developers to do NOTHING on their own. ALWAYS ask, demand, plead for tax breaks, incentives, abatements, etc. ALWAYS claim that the project is unfeasible without tax incentives. Throw some cash under the table, or make a political contribution, and it's magical what developers are able to wring from the fat man in the bow-tie.
Hey, at least they have something more important to offer than 2 day old stories from the AP.
ReplyDeleteEVERYTHING IS UP TO DATE IN KANSAS CITY
ReplyDeleteis that a bet on the convention industry? i think most of the downtown office buildings in KC have always been empty.
ReplyDeleteGreat Idea !!!
ReplyDeleteMuch closer to the hood. Greater opportunity than the Plaza for economic training such as shoplifting, robbing, or simply running in, grabbing, and running out.
Shyster will even fix the roads around the new educational complex.
What do the developers plan on doing with all the street people? Will there be a place for them to do drugs and panhandle? This is a really stupid idea, but it fits right in with everything else in KCMO.
ReplyDeleteHow much money did the developers put in Slie's pocket?
ReplyDeleteThere was an article yesterday in the KC biz journal about this where the developer said something along the lines that this thing will bring 1500 jobs with salaries of $65,000 or higher. That seems delusional to me. However, I wish it luck
ReplyDelete65k retail job, uh yeah one or two managers, the rest will be working poor trying to look stylish.
