KSHB: Judge rules Jackson County Legislature candidate remains on ballot

Deets:

One of Charlie Franklin's opponents in the race, Paul Wrabec, filed suit to have Franklin removed from the ballot.

Wrabec argued Franklin broke the law by signing his campaign disclosure form stating he didn't owe delinquent taxes when he did.

But Judge Jennifer M. Phillips denied Wrabec's request in a written order without explanation.

TKC reader perspective . . .

"Controversial politician Paul Wrabec has had to answer a number of uncomfortable questions from democrats this election season. In a party that has become more progressive, many are questioning his concerning and "old school" stance on social justice and race, as well as his recent legal trouble for accumulation of waste and trash on his property. Now, Wrabec's campaign has suffered a severe setback in court as his half-baked attempt to remove his competition from the ballot went down in flames as the court ruled, thankfully, that the voters, and not insider political games, should decide elections. Wrabec was severely out-lawyered in court, and is also being out worked in the 3rd district by both of his opponents."

  1. Politicians don't pay taxes until they're caught and forced to pay them. No repercussions ever.

  4. Wrabec may have his issues but his opponent Charlie Franklin didn't pay his taxes and got caught. A law breaker should not be a law maker.
