Exceptional reporting from KCTV5 offers a not-so-fun fact that contradicts local hype regarding rail transit.
Summer crime is ramping up and there's not a lot of room for fixed rail transit denizens to maneuver. Here's a glimpse at the most recent predicament:

Streetcar service disrupted after car crashes following chase
Streetcar service was temporarily delayed in Kansas City on Saturday after a car crashed following a chase.
Of course it's not safe. There have already been a lot of violence incidents aboard, it's just that people don't like talking about it and the news refuses to report it. Gotta give channel 5 credit for this one.
ReplyDeletethe streetcar is a great thing for KC. Don't know why there is so much hate directed toward it. we should not be so down about this city. great things are happening here and I am grateful I live near such a useful and efficient public transportation option.
DeleteAre you Go4KC’s partner?
DeleteOf course temp tags. You know what that means.
ReplyDelete225 new call service jobs were just announced. So we'll need a taxpayer subsidized $650 Million streetcar extension to get those folks to work across the river.
ReplyDeleteI am sad that the suspect sustained minor injuries in the crash.
ReplyDeleteAwww---Did the lil toy train get an owwwiee. Didum dahdum
ReplyDeleteAnother one of Go4KC's historic problems with the toy train. Start charging for riding the toy train and watch ridership numbers go down. The city's solution to low ridership will require blow up dolls strapped in the seats to make it appear the toy train is operating at capacity.
ReplyDeleteHe just wanted a parking spot near the door is all.
ReplyDeleteTmir why do you have to act so stupid? If you had half a brain you would look at what you just said there and kill yourself from utter embarrassment.
ReplyDeleteThat’s how they park in the hood, the sidewalk is for parking your car and the street is for walking. These people are worthless and they’re getting worse by the day.
ReplyDeleteWhere’s Go4kc with his lies?
ReplyDelete^^^^^Don't worry he is slithering around here somewhere.
ReplyDeleteSee you at the streetcar expansion groundbreaking.....
ReplyDeleteMetro
ReplyDeleteLoves
Krime
10:53 with his copy and paste mumbo jumbo
ReplyDeleteThe streetcar is a joke, has been and always will be, this just proves how incompetent city officials throw good money away hoping something will stick, well, this ain’t stickin.
ReplyDeleteIf letting the roads turn into gravel is the plan to prove streetcar is the bestus, it’s not working.
Looks like the minions of city hall have been making their baseless comments on TKC this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI bet we will never know the true cost of the toy train as it is now, public works officials have said the they spent at least 60 million more than the advertised cost of 102 million which was twice as much as anybody else that paid for the starter line. How bout some truth in government there Go4kc? Can you give us the truth or will you hide behind your rah rah speech as usual?
ReplyDeleteMaybe Nicole Galloway will give us the truth, here’s your chance before it gets ugly for you and your boss.
8:07 I live in the OP, what do temp tags mean? Purchase from a buy here pay here? Honest question.
ReplyDelete^^^They let a buyer of a vehicle avoid paying sales taxes for 30 days. Actually forever, since the buyer can just keep buying cars, each one with a 30 day permit.
ReplyDeleteThey also make it hard to identify a vehicle, since the tag number is written so small that no one can make it out at any distance. So they're good to use for committing crimes.
4:51 thanks. I’d never have thought of that.
ReplyDeleteHoodrats sell these temp tags as they are easy to duplicate and sell
ReplyDeleteSo the upshot of this minor one-car wreck was that the Streetcar took a left turn, went around the block, and got back on its regular route three minutes later, right?
ReplyDeleteOH, WAIT! THAT WAS THE BUSSES! SORRY!
