Recently a woman was allegedly attacked in the Jackson County Jail and brutally raped.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker sent a strongly worded letter to elected leaders on Monday asking for a shift in the administration of the jail. Elected officials discussed their options and the directive in the weekly Legislative meeting.

Obviously, scheduling conflicts are inevitable and there might be a reasonable excuse. Sadly, neither the newspaper nor any other outlet has bothered to ask:
If Crystal Williams is a leading local advocate for women then why is she missing meetings regarding repeated RAPE at the jail and why has she been mostly silent now that the controversy continues to endanger women with no resolution in sight???

ReplyDeleteHer actual job responsibilities include providing some oversight to such governmental functions as assessing property and collecting and distributing tax revenue, the maintenance and repair of roads in unincorporated parts of the county, and the exercise of some fiscal responsibility and restraint by county government, none of which have anything to do with her "feminist" hobbies.
If she wants to devote her time and energies to "grrrl power" or other special interests, she needs to get off the taxpayer payroll and see if she can get a job with some nonprofit group.
It appears the voters are about to give her that opportunity.
