Over the last few elections, the racial divisions of KC have been the most relevant factor in the mayoral election . . .

Remember that Mayor Sly used Mike Burke's white guilt as a political weapon when he convinced the power broker lawyer to go on a joint debate camapign which kneecapped Mr. Burke and forced him to play nice guy in an uncomfortable juxtaposition with a skilled trial lawyer who had far more charisma and public speaking eloquence.



TKC aside . . . Don't feel too sorry for Mike Burke, he got $35-MILLION from City Hall UP FRONT based on some sketches because he played nice with the winning contender.

Meanwhile, Team Kander is unburdened by guilt.

Diana Kander is smarter than any candidate or consultant engaging in the Kansas City 2018-2019 election cycle.



Don't let her sales lady shtick disguise her politically lethal intelligence. Examples: She wanted to write a book as a side-hustle hobby and ended up a New York Times bestseller, with a few phone calls she has put her opposition in jail and her media contacts across the nation have decimated lesser rivals.

For the uninitiated, Jason Kander's campaign announcement was big news. But here at TKC we are initiated . . .

The real news this week is the return of Diana Kander to Kansas City politics.

This time around she won't be able to play the ambitious hottie eager to "learn how biz works" whilst quickly amassing a sizable fortune along with garnering contacts to just about every major biz leader in KCMO before her 30s. Upon her return trip, she's even more formidable . . . A working mom trying to earn her hubby the top job in town.

Meanwhile . . .

Councilman Quinton Lucas is the most impressive leader the 3rd District has ever witnessed in the modern era.

He could easily earn a high-six-figure salary in the private sector, he's a law professor and now he's armed with an expert understanding of how City Hall really works.

For the first time, in a long time . . . The fight for mayor will be among two members of the elite who earned their position by way of intellect and real life achievement.

Like it or not . . . Housing, downtown luxury subsidy, transit, crime, sales tax increases etc. are all issues that fall across racial lines in Kansas City . . . Remember the Kanders are responsible for the career of Mayor Sly and one of the architects of his developer friendly agenda . . . Meanwhile, Councilman Quinton is the pride of the 3rd District, supported fiercely by urban core elite and just about every Midtown progressive engaged in local politics.

Reality shared with us among the smarter denizens of our Democracy . . . The great white Northland and their documented love of Jason Kander during his failed Senate gambit might be his only real saving grace when locals really start to drill down into the numbers.

The interesting part will be watching all of the plebs on both sides of the equation slap fight among one another with arguments the two camps have set up to divide Kansas City along racial lines in order to determine who best represents the special interests of those really control this town.
