Now, a current parking, speeding and traffic law crackdown is underway and residents paying big bucks for their misdeeds won't find any comfort in the fact that political connections often prove effective in avoiding consequences.

Hoping the election this fall will clean up Jackson County but wanted to pass on a great example of why the voters have to get integrity back in the County.
November 2014, then County Executive Mike Sanders gets a speeding ticket for going 79 in a 65 in Jackson County. But no big deal. He hires County Legislator Dennis Waits to go cut a deal with the County Prosecutor (who Sanders and Waits control budgets). And how about that, Sanders ticket is reduced to a "Defective Equipment" which is no points on his license and ONLY GETS A $50 FINE!! Anyone else would have to pay a fine of $250 plus pay court costs but not Sanders and this sweetheart deal with the county executive, a county legislator and the county prosecutor. Anyone with any sense would know this should have been sent to a special prosecutor and special judge just to avoid the appearance of impropriety but these people don't care. It's all on casenet to see. What other shady deals didn't we see?
PS: Sanders got another ticket in his Mercedes Benz in Bates County in 2017 but he didn't have any corrupt friends there so he had to pay $264. Both tickets info attached.
Sanders thought he was above the law . . . Now let's hope the voters can clean out the rest of the corruption this year.

Also, it's unfortunate that council and the mayor get free parking in the basement of city hall while employees have to pay higher and higher fees every year.
Sanders was one of the worst but just one of them.

ReplyDeleteAll this stuff happened after he left office, which it appears it did, then Tony can be sued. He is no longer a "public figure" and the law changes about defamation and slander. Implying that reducing a speeding ticket is somehow corruption is straight out actionable in my opinion.

ReplyDeleteIf a little traffic ticket fixing was the only corruption among Jackson County politicos, we would have nothing to talk or write about. Jackson County has had a fine tradition of being rife with corruption ever since Pendergast. Nothing changes, folks.

ReplyDeleteA couple weeks ago my husband and I were driving eastbound on 40 Hwy from Less Summit Rd. A full size black Lexus roared past us at perhaps 70 mph. Middle-aged man with rather disturbing angular facial features. He almost side swiped us when he switched lanes. 3? digit tag said "Retired State Representative" or some such. He slowed down only perhaps 10 mph as he executed a left into a used car lot. He was totally out of control. Thought to myself had he caused a collision, there's no doubt in my mind who would be found at fault. Every county office holder and every member of Independence's "First Family" need to be displaced as far as possible And permanently from area politics.

Customers only agreed to policy with medical coverage. Customers only agreed to set price and sign application. Stephen pirch then takes signature page from application and pared it with new rate customer did not agree to or saw. Then passed it to loan officer to use with multiple mortgages scammers set up. Weeks later customers receive cancelation notice if more money isn't paid. Customers discover Stephen pirch set policy up on home weeks before customers contacted him for homeowners insurance. Allegedly friend of loan officer. Customers referred to Stephen pirch. Customers discovered Stephen pirch would set up allegedly fake policy numbers and put them on fake policies but would conceal this from home office of country financial and price. Home office confirmed Stephen pirch allegedly concealed fraud. Homeowner had no idea of Stephen pirch mischief. Stephen pirch home owner insurance documents were found at numerous business entities and didn't match what customers later received. Deception by Stephen pirch cost customers thousands of dollars. Numerous checks were provided from loan officers bank for multiple payments for home owners insurance to Stephen pirch county financial. Allegedly Stephen pitch insurance agent would allegedly receive additional payments for alleged misdeeds fraud scams. These payments allegedly roled into customers loans after customers paid up front cost at loan closing.customers had claim and discovered policy had been switched had to pay out of pocket. Do not erase this post please. People must not be deceived anymore.
