Local lawyer Andrea Comfort Martinez is calling an ICE agent by name in this post featuring her feet that's going viral across FB . . .
"Kansas City ICE ERO deportation officer ######### pushed me this morning and caused a fracture in my right foot, as well as a bloody left leg. He refused me medical treatment and did not allow me to call 911. This was because he was mad that he had so many cameras filming him in the ICE parking lot as he was deporting my 3-year-old client and his pregnant mother. Officer Chase detained me and wouldn’t let me out of a locked ICE office and then called the Federal Protective Service (FPS) “police” and continually looked at my phone to make sure I wasn’t recording him."

Really sad story here. Sad because there's not much that can be done about it and that people are playing politics with the life of a very young person that nation should otherwise seek to protect. Thank you Andrea for the work you do and putting yourself in harm's way.

ReplyDeleteThis is also an object lesson why illegals must be stopped at the border and deported, rather than releasing them in a vain hope that they will show up months or years later for a deportation hearing.
My guess is this social justice lawyer tried to block the ICE agent in the performance of his duty. If she was injured in the attempt, it's on her. She gets the same amount of sympathy we'd give a criminal defense lawyer who tries to stop law enforcement officers from taking into custody a client convicted of murder.
Her actions may be an ethical violation as well.

ReplyDeleteYeah, the ICE agents are probably tired and overworked. We need to hire twice as many. That way they can be more thorough and make sure we get everyone deported, and possibly be nicer to lying lawyers.
