Some of the most prolific local activists are taking notice after a top ranking Kansas City journalist is abruptly missing from her regularly scheduled newscasts.
Here's the word . . .
Please send an email in regards to Lisa Benson now OFF-AIR # KSHB41 - NBC ACTION NEWS, it is MY UNDERSTANDING and MY BELIEF that she may be experiencing retaliation because she filed a lawsuit against them for discrimination, also keep in mind that she is a Black reporter and she recently was scheduled to interview Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker in regard to the "conviction integrity unit" that they have implemented to address "wrongful convictions".
On background, trouble betwixt Ms. Benson and her employer is ongoing and this latest flap is just one of many employee complaints confronting the news team.
Developing . . .
KSHB has always been one of the worst places to work in KC. They've had so many problems over the years from harassment to weird stories about sex in their editing bays. Not out of control as it used to be over there but definitely still sleazy.
ReplyDelete^^^ Too optimistic. 41 is just as bad as ever.
DeleteNot getting a promotion is not cause for discrimination. It's something that's the status quo for most people who work as part of the industry. When it happens, you switch stations and possibly have to switch markets. Sorry, I know that's cruel but it's a part of and industry that can be filled with high pressure and a lot of empty promises.
DeleteJean get tough questions from KC media? Not going to happen my friend, even moreso now.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't get a promotion because she is fat and untalented, not because she is black. She is very fat. If I wanted to see fat chicks, which I don', I would just go to Wesport and look at all the fat bar whores.
ReplyDeleteShe is very fat.
You sound like a idiot.
DeleteFox 4 news is the best, channel 9 and 41 can't hold a candle to them.
ReplyDeleteRemember when Marie Antonio had a lawsuit against channel 9 for discrimination?
41 with Jade DeGood and her magnificent boobs are the best.
ReplyDeleteHard to work for someone when you are suing them, duh.
ReplyDeleteHow can you sue your boss and expect to still work there and be considered a top employee? Broadcasting has always been a dog eat dog world with everyone working there trying to get the golden ring. Well guess what, there are only so many golden rings and not everyone is going to win. If that's too hard to understand then maybe a new career choice needs to be made.
ReplyDeleteMaybe she went off to teeter-totter with Kim Gardner.
ReplyDeleteAfter raising concerns about the way she was being treated in 2015, Benson was suspended without pay for two days for what she was told was “combative” behavior with a supervisor. In her suit, Benson said her behavior during the meeting was respectful.
ReplyDeleteShe is race playing blister waiting to pop. Grow up lady times are tough.
In today's local news they come and they go.See ya'.
ReplyDeleteMove to France :

She is nasty. It is their own fault for hiring her> She was nasty then and they should have known that someday she would play the race card, as they all do.
ReplyDeleteGood comment Super Dave and spot on.
ReplyDeleteHoopz to the rescue.
ReplyDeleteWhich "Activists", Tony?
ReplyDeleteC'mon, name names!
Probably just the same tired old African American Racists howling about anybody "of the correct color" not being carried around on a pillow.
I am one of the activist. And no I am not some a tired old African American Racist. I am an private investigator who uncovered horrible acts of judicial misconduct which more then likely would have brought a former prosecutor now judge into the spotlight of corruption. Mrs. Benson was the investigative reporter on the case and was getting ready to cover the story on the air. Apparently someone of power pulled some strings and had her suspended before the story could air. There were several cases of injustice she was covering which could also be the reason she was suddenly suspended. Now you have a blessed day and next time think before you speak
DeleteBlacks filing discrimination complaints when something other than favorable happens to them at work is so commonplace that it is not news. Their employers usually pay them and their attorneys to go away regardless of the lack of merit of their claim. It's like having a guaranteed bonus perk, and has nothing at all to do with actual discrimination.
ReplyDeleteThe biotch is cra cra, she be bi-polar, goes nuts every three days and nobody wants to be around her
ReplyDeleteI agree with 12:09
ReplyDeleteWow, a black employee suing for discrimination.
ReplyDeleteShocking.
You ARE an idiot.
ReplyDeleteWhy companies hire women and minorities is beyond me.
ReplyDeleteGood riddance to someone who had no talent and is no fun to look at.
ReplyDeleteWouldn’t it be better to discuss the quality of your job performance rather than the color of your skin. How does skin color equate to a quality job performance.
ReplyDelete+100 ^^
DeleteOnce again it "racisim", she was a crappy anchor and not much of a reporter. I didn't watch when she anchored, to many mistakes on her part.
