Bishop Sullivan Center helps older Kansas City residents struggling in heat
Some older residents in the Kansas City area are getting some help in beating the heat. Bishop Sullivan Center's Project Elder Cool helps those 65 and older. Applications are usually handled over the phone. Workers get the units ready as they're purchased and then install them, too, usually within a day.
And this is the OPEN THREAD for right now . . .
The story skips the fun part. After the ACs have been installed, they are taken by relatives of the senior citizen and sold for drug money. I wonder whether Bishop Sullivan Center keeps track of seniors who need a new unit every year?
