Quick update after last year's tax hike frenzy, turns out more cash didn't save Eastside biz . . . Call it a newsflash or par for the course:
KC's East Side sales tax was approved a year ago. Why hasn't any money been spent?
Kansas City's unique one-eighth-cent sales tax for improvements along the Prospect Avenue corridor on the East side is off to a disappointing start. It's been more than a year since voters approved the levy, now known as the Central City Economic Development Sales Tax. So far, the tax has generated more than $4.8 million.
Slie is trying to pull another one of his bait and switch tactic with taxpayer money. He has no intention of using it on the east side as it is too far from downtown. He will figure out a way to use it downtown.
