Maybe HD was planning to move this production overseas, maybe not. Either way, with our little Tariff war (they're easy folks), the decision is a no brainer.
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of folks who comment on TKC have never taken a college level Economics class, much less set foot on a college campus, but they are generally a zero sum game. And history hasn't been kind to tariffs in the name of nationalism.
I would mount that girl on the bike.
ReplyDeleteIn a couple of years when Harley makes its come back they will have a Trump edition bike to commemorate their achievement. MAGA
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter how many people lose their jobs, the unemployment rate will remain at a fictional level.
ReplyDelete11:25, I studied economics in college & my professor said that it was impossible for unemployment to go lower than 6%, & that 6% unemployment was considered full employment.
Moving production to an overseas location takes many months to plan. If HD can make that move now, then it's been on the table far longer than any tariff. Or, if they are just starting the planning, they know it's likely that the trade disputes will be settled before they can make it happen, and for that reason as well the move is not related to tariffs.
ReplyDeleteI'll be so glad when that dump is closed so we can stop seeing all these stores about a loser company.
ReplyDeleteWhat are they thinking? If they don't know that being a made-in-USA machine is the essence of their branding, well, they may be in trouble.
ReplyDeleteThey still make them in Milwaukee.
ReplyDeleteTax the hell out of them!
ReplyDeleteThey betrayed Kansas city!
The President has not yet completely overthrown the Constitution of The United States, and therefore does not have the power to impose a tax on any one Company!
ReplyDeleteThis is just the spiteful braying of an immature Man-Child Bully at about the level of a nine-year-old! The GOP is complicit, since they lack the moral fiber to rein in this spoiled brat when he has one of his ludicrous hissy-fits.
He is displaying definite signs of mental stress, and is probably heading toward yet another breakdown, but this one will be much more public and harder to cover up.
God help this poor Country!
So. Much. Winning. MAGA!
