Kansas City Fashionista Weekend Ahead

Because our blog community too often takes local news too seriously, here's a nice look at people having more fun than most as (sometimes) "body acceptance" and diversity seems like a better time than getting angry on the Internets . . .

  1. WHAT IS FASHION?

Fashion, and I'm talking in this instance about clothing, is simply a group of people intertwined in the industry coming to a consensus on what the current trends will be, and then attempting to impose those trends upon the public.

Notice that trends are constantly changing to ensure that fashion-aware consumers must part with their dollars constantly if they're to remain in vogue. Fashion is primarily driven toward the female brain which is more prone to feelings of insecurity, a longing for acceptance into the group, and illogical reasoning. Whereas men typically desire things, women desire relationships and status among other women.

Look in almost any married couples closet and count how many pairs of shoes they each have there. It's a safe bet that the woman has at least twice as many as the man. And that's just one easy example.

  2. CLOTHES HORSE, CAR BUFF, IT IS ONLY MONEY HONEY!6/8/18, 10:35 PM

Be fair. Car and truck "styling" switches up every year to get mostly guys yapping about and yearning for the latest looking body contours, the sporty wheel covers, the revised truck grills, the cooler cockpit design, added interior colors, the BIGGEST, BEST, FASTEST, and on and on.

  10. Yep. Reading your worthless no content anonymous comments!
    Fashion brings joy to many.
As they said in Steel Magnolias, our ability to accessorize distinguishes us from the apes.
You, sir, are an anonymous nose-pickin' ape.
