The not-so-unusual Springtime rain is creating chaos on local streets as morning commuters cope with KCMO storm sewer FAIL and more than a few crashes and cars stalled despite GO BOND promises and constant water rate increases.

ReplyDeleteWhere is the Star puff piece on the wonderful benefit of the $12 million-dollar, Chicago, no bid contract to improve customer service in the Water Department. No changes or improvements were ever proclaimed by any of the media.
ReplyDeleteWhat did happen is that a flood of mailings began coming from Chicago and other locales wanting every KCMO property owner to buy water line insurance. The last several years the letters have been official looking letters from the City Manager. Why was Troy Schulte promoting private insurance? Only conclusion is that the $12 million was used to setup private companies to sell this insurance. Who are the silent partners in this scam?
They paved Paradise and put up to many parking lots .ALL the run off. And an aging infrastructure .And a company that puts in bad pipes. You may need a good old fashioned PRENDERGAST CONSTRUCTION .THEY WERE CORRUPT BUT THEY COULD LAY PIPE AND CONCRETE. .RIDING THE STORM OUT
ReplyDeleteLook at all the trash clogging the drains, storm sewers, etc. Along I70 there are even trees growing out of what is designed as drains along center lane. Most roadways in KC (MO and KS) are a disgrace with all the trash contributing to the flooding. Of course no drainage system can keep up with all the asphalt and roof tops taking the place of open space.
