TKC FACT CHECK!!! KANSAS CITY TALKER GREG KNAPP STAYS WINNING DESPITE MISTAKEN MEDIA MATTERS MENTION!!!

Greg Knapp is doing great work as a motivational speaker and working with some of the top companies in the region following the conclusion of his work at 710AM KCMO.

A while ago Mr. Knapp left the station on good terms and with an outpouring of support from fans, colleagues and coworkers.

However, that didn't stop one of the biggest media "watchdog" groups in the nation from calling him out in their list of "fake news" focusing mostly on conservative talkers.

Already, we noted that MM didn't really get the joke about the KC Photoshop tourism prank that spread far and wide across the Internets.

And now . . .

EXCLUSIVE!!! TKC BUSTS MEDIA MATTERS MISTAKENLY LISTING GREG KNAPP IN THE RECENT SCHOOL SHOOTING GUN DEBATE DISCOURSE DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE'S NOT ON AIR ANYMORE!!! 

Again, Mr. Knapp was part of a pretty big listing but the argument against him was fierce.

"Radio host Greg Knapp on Missouri talk station KCMO-AM pushed a false story that Parkland, FL, mass shooting survivor David Hogg was not at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School during the shooting."

AGAIN, MEDIA MATTERS IS COMPLETELY MISTAKEN!!! AND WE'VE GOT A QUOTE ON THE TOPIC RIGHT FROM THE SOURCE!!!



Here's the fact check from Greg Knapp who graciously cleared things up after we reached out . . .

"Alex Kaplan from MM tweeted this a while back and I told them I haven't been on the air on KCMO since 11/17. So, it would have been impossible for me to have said what they are claiming. He apologized to me in a twitter dm, but it looks like they're still pushing this lie.

"I don't know who said it on KCMO at the time. I think they were trying out various new hosts and hadn't changed the website. So, I guess Media Matters assumed it was me."

And here's the truth of it:

Greg Knapp: "I have NEVER said anything about David Hogg not being at school that day. Media Matters owes me a big apology."

And so . . .

Media Matters is a huge organization funded by donations and an impressive group of political activist groups. However, when we drill down to the local level and look at their "watchdog" efforts we see that they're playing fast and loose with the facts and unfairly targeting KC area Conservatives for things they didn't even say.

What happens when nobody is watching the watchdogs???

In this case, it's important that our blog community rely on the people who have an interest in our community no matter their political agenda. We may not have agreed with every opinion Mr. Knapp declared but his reputation for relying on facts in his arguments has always been impeccable. Meanwhile, what we now see from bigger organizations like Media Matters is that they aren't prepared to drill down on details when it comes to local players mentioned whilst they're trying to prove a point about so-called conservative "fake news" overall.
