The Trouble With the Memphis Airport: No Crowds
The spacious terminal built for when the Tennessee city was a bustling air travel hub has become a half-deserted white elephant that the airport is spending millions to shrink. MEMPHIS - The view from the chief executive's office window at Memphis International Airport is as sweeping as it is dispiriting: On a recent afternoon, he could see 10 empty jet bridges and not a single airliner.
Memphis airport, the real MLK terminal.

Memphis and KCMO should be sister cities. These violent shithole cities are both backwaters with big expensive airports that are mostly empty.
ReplyDelete^^What's their geezer population like? Anything like ours? Large and generally worthless? Constant complainers and low intelligence? Incredibly stupid and horribly backwards?
ReplyDelete^^^ Move to Memphis please.
ReplyDeleteBuild it and they will come.
ReplyDeleteFor a few months anyway...
In 10 years NYT will have an article about all of the empty downtown apartments.
ReplyDeleteMemphis is much smaller than KC and poorer too. Mostly poor blacks live in Memphis so not surprised they have so few flights.
ReplyDeleteBeen through Memphis airport, can confirm, it's a ghost town. Was honestly surprised at how 'un-busy' it was. The Memphis metro is about 700-800k less populated than KC tho.
ReplyDeleteWell no shiite Memphis is smaller, they only have 4 mil aeroporte travelers. Assuming just 50% of our visitors arrive by airplane, that's still 12.5 million. Though I suspect many more are coming through the the skies rather than driving in. We won't have nearly the problems Memphis does.
ReplyDeleteCan confirm the geriatric population of Memphis is much, much better than ours. Engaged in the community, generally good people. Not the worthless good-for-nothings that waste their limited days on here.
ReplyDeleteAnd KCI isn't even a Hub anymore - "The Shape Of Things To Come"?
ReplyDelete^^Doesn't mean it wont be in the future either.
ReplyDeleteIf you think Kansas City is bad... can't hold a handle to Memphis. Memphis, like New Orleans, and most Southern cities are corrupt disaster zones. I lived in Memphis for 7 years and it was downright scary sometimes. You have a few touristy areas and that's it, the rest is a dump.
ReplyDeleteMEM, as the article notes used to be a hub. KCI has never been a hub and is building their new terminal to scale with the demand of future travel needs. Apples to oranges.
ReplyDeleteWong idiot. TWA had a hub here. Look it up. God damn you’re dumb
DeleteYour going to build a tin can in the middle of Tornado ALLY. I The High Winds, may cause Damage ..Right now you have a solid constructed airport. Look at St Louis in the past the storm damage to the airport .The WIND will huff and puff and blow your Airport down .? Only time will tell.
