Kansas City Sunday Night Movie Lookout

For the beloved shift worker denizens of our blog community starting their much harder work week before everybody else,we offer a quick check-in featuring some of the better Kansas City movies recently produced.

Check the clips and a quick headline description:

All About Kansas City Midtown Life

Rachel & John chose to live in Westport because of the variety of places to walk to, low maintenance and friendly and exciting atmosphere . . . Other than the occasional deadly shooting, the place is really cool!!!

Local Signature Cuisine Serviette

"Kansas City is known for its 'cue. But with hundreds of BBQ joints blanketing the city, it's hard to know the wannabes from the world-class pit masters. So we partnered with #KCLoves to create the BBQ Mapkin. It's a map, a napkin, and an official “best of” barbecue guide to a city known for its 'cue."

Sound Of The Kansas City Hustle

From the director: "I met McClain while he was working a day job at a place which will remain unnamed, and since then we have been pals and partners in crime at jam band concerts and other rigamaroo. McClain is one of the most dynamite people you could ever meet. It was an honor to work on this film with him."

And so . . .

This view of Kansas City represents quaint look at local life as we prepare to dive into another week of tough questions, problems that arise in the local discourse.

Hopefully, we'll have more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  1. The Kansas City mapkin is a good idea, but they probably also need KC adult diapers for when all of that food gives you epic colon blow.

Midtown is a wonderful place to live 6 days of the week. Saturday night has always been a pain in the ass. Some of us wouldn't have it any other way.

    2. That napkin is missing most of the best places to get bbq. Mostly just corporate joints that have no real people or real atmosphere. It's made by Barkley so what do you expect? But I still hope it's popular, keep all the scenesters going to the trendy spots and far away from decent BBQ joints.

  3. I get it, Westport is soooo cool and hip. No thanks. People get shot and killed there. I don’t care how cool of a hipster spot you have it’s not worth your life.

  4. I always like the late night clips because they're more optimistic than the constant stream of bad news. Yeah, westport has problems, corporate restaurants are pushing out the little guy in Kc and the edm music isn't as good as some of the better rock bands. You can literally hate anything. But there are still people out there trying to do their best with what they've got. It's almost inspiring.

    Almost.

  5. 1:47 I agree with you. It’s true people are out there trying to do good things. Ever since a female friend of mind was robbed at gunpoint in her car in Westport over 10 years ago I’ve kept a close look at it. It’s not safe. It’s also full of antifa weirdos and just weirdos in general. Violent crime, jack booted butch lesbos, and drugs...it’s just not worth it no matter how hard it gets gentrified.
