At some of the nicer places around town, we're hearing about reports of 3-buck-a-gallon gas . . . But there are still bargains to be found. Nevertheless, prices are high and rising whilst our political denizens seek another opportunity to cast blame.

ReplyDeleteIn Defense Of Higher Gas Taxes - Forbes
https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2018/02/16/in-defense-of-higher-gas-taxes/
Feb 16, 2018 - This week Democratic Senator Tom Carper of Delaware said that ... If enacted, this would be the first increase in the federal gasoline tax since 1993. I ... that taxes need to be increased, I would argue for increasing fuel taxes.
Does Trump get the blame. Yep.
ReplyDeleteHe pulled the US out of the Paris Climate agreement.
He directed the EPA to eliminate fuel efficiency standards on cars and trucks.
He violated and withdrew from the Iran nuclear agreement, destabilizing the middle east.
For the lucky few that got a small income tax cut, say goodbye to it. 31% gas price increase just took all of it and then some.
I almost feel sorry for the MAGA defenders. They have nothing to work with.
ReplyDeleteDemocrats want higher prices too? At least you did note it was taxes. It would have been spent on what Trump called crumbling infrastructure (which he has not fixed, another broken promise). At least higher taxes would go directly to highway funds to repair roads and bridges.
The current higher oil market prices go directly to multinational corporations. That giant sucking sound is our money disappearing into company bank accounts and foreign countries. Trump is making OPEC and Russia great again.
^^^^^^^Like you retards could do any better while having no idea how the gas and oil futures work.
ReplyDeleteYou must be a MAGA moron. So must to deny accountability and blame others. Repptards control the Presidency, Hose and Senate. Of course they’re to blame. Now go mop the bathroom!
DeleteIn the Fall the gas prices will fall THE U.S.Is producing more oil then it ever has .The Arabs.are the reason or opec.they know there days are numbered. It only cost the U.S.about eighteen dollar a Barrel .And Oil is Over Seventy Dollars a barrel. This creates great high paying job's for Americans. .gas will fall in the fall. .
ReplyDeleteSlap a 45% Corporate Tax (Emergency Fuel Tax) on Oil Companies that...
ReplyDelete1) only kicks in when Gasoline is above $2.00/gallon (Nationwide Average). and
2) Cannot be passed on to consumers but only applies to Corporate profits.
THEN you'll see how quickly Fuel Prices fall!

ReplyDeleteWhen Jordan and her friends started a full-service pit stop, I enjoyed having my dipstick serviced regularly!!!
The OIL Companies do this every memorial day - 4th july and Labor day - and Thanksgiving and sometimes at Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThey've been pulling this stunt for the last 45 years + , so what else is new !!
They did the same shit back in the 1970's - 1980's - 1990-s thru the 2000's too as I recall !
^^^ The story is about gas prices increasing 31% over the last year!!!
ReplyDeleteIdiot.
Glad I got rid of that boat and slip at the lake.
ReplyDeleteOil companies are really saying:
ReplyDeleteBend over and take it.
