Tonight, for our late night denizens and shift worker pals we share a glimpse at a topic that has been nearly talked to death. From the Gold Standard of KCMO discourse, a consideration of bygone civil rights icons and the local jazz scene.
Check the description:
"Mike Shanin talks to Rev. Dr. Vernon Percy Howard, Jr. about the SCLC's push to rename The Paseo in honor of MLK and gets his reaction to the mayor's advisory group recommendations. Mary O'Halloran, Ron Freeman, Woody Cozad and Patrick McInerney discuss the latest in the Missouri special session to consider impeachment proceedings for Gov. Greitens, the Colyer v. Kobach primary & the Jazz Museum."
Take a look:
You decide . . .
Jeez. With all of the problems in this city, I'm not sure if a street and airport or a park named after MLK will solve any of them.
ReplyDeleteLets just rename KC
ReplyDeleteThey're going to put it on the try an initiative petition anyway, it'll probably win but if there's already something else named by the mayor & council, there would be no reason to put it on the ballot. Those petitions are constantly dropped or reworked. Just ask Clay Chastain.
ReplyDeleteI see it was the normal gaggle of idiots on again tonight.
ReplyDeleteYes it was quite lackluster, kinda like have diaper boy on Dana and Parks for 3 hours
Delete^^^ True dat.
ReplyDeleteDear Rev. Howard--You keep tying to force black identity down white folks throats you won't like the backlash which is what Trump's trying to do by making whites really pissed off at minorities.
ReplyDeleteROAST and TOAST = show highlight
ReplyDeleteWoody, Ron, and Mike = BEST OF SHOW
