KC Zoo opening earlier for summer
Kansas City said it will open earlier in the morning for the summer. Starting Saturday, the zoo will open at 8 a.m. The zoo will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends through Labor Day.

Photographer captures sounds of gunfire in downtown KC
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A 41 Action News photographer capturing video of overnight storms also captured the sounds of gunfire early Friday morning near downtown Kansas City. Photographer Jason Gould was grabbing video looking east from the Summit Avenue bridge over Interstate 670 around 5 a.m. when he heard at least two shots.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A Memorial Day tradition continues this year in Kansas City, Kan., with thousands of flags planted in memory of the brave men and women who died defending our country in the ongoing War on Terror. Volunteers with the American Fallen Warrior Memorial Foundation placed the 8,000 American flags near Schlitterbahn Water Park Thursday.
