Coffee carafes are nearing empty and there's a focused silence inside the Plexpod Crossroads on Sunday. It's the last day of Compile KC, a new event dedicated to bringing resources to Kansas City-based nonprofits. Local designer and software consultant John Caldwell took his cue from an event called Coders for Charities, which paired charities with software developers.

Police were called to the scene just before 10:30 on a multiple vehicle crash. Initial investigation reveals that two vehicles entered the intersection at the same time and collided.

The Kansas City Royals have been forced to postpone Sunday's planned game against the Los Angeles Angels due to frigid temperatures. The Royals issued a release at 1 p.m. stating that due to sub-freezing temperatures, the game would have to be rescheduled.

  6. Went to the liquor store Sat. night to get 2 Fosters oil cans, walked thru the biting 30 degree west wind and light blowing snow. When I saw Royals baseball on a wall TV I said 'Take me out to the ball game'. He chuckled and shook his head.
